I have a new computer so I had to download v 13 of E-sword.   The tab to change text colors seems to be either gone, or so well hidden I can't find it.

Currently, words in italics and the book/chapter/verse text are in a kind of light blue.   I want to change them to black.   How do I do this?

The ability to change text colors was changed starting with e-Sword version 11 which has been a somewhat unpopular decision. What ever text color options are available in e-Sword 13 can be found by clicking Options on the menu across top of e-Sword. This will open the options drop down menu and you should see an option labeled "Text Colors" if it is still available in e-Sword 13. If it is there click it and a small window will open displaying the available text color options

When I saw this a couple of days ago, I had to seriously do some thinking about it. For the like of me, I couldn't and still don't remember if one could actually change the font color in the much older versions of e-Sword. So, with bearing this in mind, I did a video about it querying what it is the this person actually wants to do.

I trust that this video provokes some memories about changing the font color in either the Bible, Commentary, or Dictionary window.

Blessings,

In versions of e-Sword prior to 11 you could change color of text by clicking Options>Text Colors which brings up the following text color option box:
