Just wondering if anyone has any ideas, concerning Simple Bible Reader conversion not displaying accented vowels in Compare or Parallel windows, yet is perfectly viewed in Bible window.

Successfully converted TheWord.ont to e-sword.bblx. So far so good; the only quirk is when the converted module.bblx is viewed in parallel or compare window, some words are truncated.

Example Gal 4:1; l'héritier and différent are correct in Bible window, while truncated in Parallel and Compare. I suspect it is due to the accented vowel é.

Bible alone;

... l'héritier est un enfant, il n'est en rien différent ...

Compare:

... l'hest un enfant, il n'est en rien diffdu ...

Parallel:

... l'hest un enfant, il n'est en rien diffdu ...

--------------

I use another french module which is available on e-sword download, it displays properly on Parallel and Compare; so, I'm not really sure what the issue is.

Also tried e-sword 13.0.0  on WinXP, and Linux/Wine with exactly same results.

Simple Bible Reader conversion may have difficulties with accented characters only in e-sword Compare or Parallel windows, while e-sword french modules work well in all windows.

Any suggestions?Attached File  EswordCompare.png   31.94K   4 downloads

Convert the .bblx to a .bbli

Use the official converter.

Use the official converter.

Official converter? The only converters I'm aware of is converter modules v7 to v9 and  modules v8 to v9; is there another converter that I am not aware of?

Thanks

It is the one from the official e-sword site. https://www.e-sword.net/extras.html

It is at the bottom of that page.

https://www.e-sword....les/convert.exe

This converts from rtf to html content, which will render correctly (I hope) in the parallel and compare views.

Apparently, that file deals with Apple; I use WinXp and Linux/Wine.

I reconverted the module.bblx back to module.ont and it worked perfectly in the The Word Compare window.

There is no real problem as I can view the converted module in window panel; I really do not need to view it in Compare or Parallel windows.

Thanks again

the .bbli file will work fine. You can change the extension to .bblx for the converted file if you like.

I know, I used the .bbli in e-sword 11.2.2 with the same result in Compare and Parallel window.
