I did it 3 times with the same result above. Bummer.

First, where did you download the dictionary file from? Was it from here on Bible Support or was through e-Sword it self? I ask this because you state the file size is 14MB however none of the versions of the Mounce dictionary available on this site are that size.

Second the Mounce dictionary available on bible support is available in four different formats:

PC = MCGEDNT.exe,
PC = MCGEDNT,dctx
iOS = MCGEDNT.lexi
MySword= mcgednt.dct.mybible

If you downloaded the first version listed which the exe version that is a self installing file which you need to run to properly to install the dictionary module correctly into e-Sword.

The second version listed above is the just the module itself which can be downloaded and then copied into your e-Sword folder on your PC. The third version listed above is for Apple/Mac devices primarily and versions 11-13 of e-Sword for Windows.

The fourth and final version listed above is for use with the MySword bible software.
