Hi,

I have been looking for 2 days now to try and find an audio bible for pc that can be downloaded and listened to without a connection to the internet. I have been unable to find one. It doesn't have to be free. It just needs to be able to work without an internet connection and be downloadable. Preferred versions in this order AKJV, NKJV, KJV, NASB95, NASB20. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful. I wish E-sword was audio capable because I have all those versions already. Then I wouldn't be in this quandary:)

Oh yea, it needs to name books and chapters as it reads. I found one that names the book, but not the chapter.

Todd

About the only way I can think of doing what you want to do is to simply either buy a Bible on a CD, DVD or some other media, or else see if a friend has one, and is able to give you a copy.

Happy New Year and Blessings,

You might check ebay for the Scourby audio bible.  It has been around for many years.  It comes on tape or cdrom - on the hard drive it runs around 3.5 gig.

Audio bible modules can be created for use with e-Sword using Tooltip NT or a small program that is available on this site and called Audio Module Maker.

In order to create an audio module you must have the audio recordings you want to use in MP3 Format. In the case of creating an audio module for a bible you need to have MP3 files for each chapter of each bible book. The file names should be organized in the correct order such as:

Genesis001.mp3
Genesis002.mp3

And so on through the entire bible for all chapters of each bible book. It is a good idea to keep the files either in a single folder or you can also have folders for each bible book to keep things better organized.

Creation of the audio modules can be done two ways, either as commentary files (CMTX/CMTI) or Topic/Reference module. The audio module will consist of a combination of text and hyper links with the hyperlinks linking to the aforementioned MP3 audio files on your computer.

The Hyperlinks to the audio files will look something like this:

C:\KJV\01 Genesis 001.mp3

There is a sample audio module that can be downloaded that includes the first 10 chapters of Genesis. The audio module in this download is a Topic or Topx module which are view in e-Sword's reference library.

You can download this sample module at this link:

http://www.biblesupp...76-audio-bible/

There is also a an audio module for the Book of James that can be downloaded as well, this module is a commentary module that uses a KJV audio recording of The Book of James with one audio file for each chapter. This module includes the text for each chapter of James laid out in a commentary file in CMTI format.

You can download this module at this link:

Thanks Everybody,

Thanks TJ for the instructions. Peanut Gallery above provided a link to grab all the necessary MP3 files to do this project. I will take a look and see if I can do this over the weekend. If possible and it works, I will add it to the download library here. Again thanks.

Actually module creation is fairly easy once you get the hang of it, although an audio module will take a little time. There is a piece of software called e-Sword Tooltip NT that is used for module creation that make creating modules very easy.
