It would be nice to have "Reset Layout" and "Reset Bookmarks" as separate options. What other settings are effected by the HELP=>Reset E-Sword Settings command?
Thanks Rick v10 is Awesome!!! and Josh thanks for the Help with the RTF issues!!

There is one thing that has been an issue with those that "experiment" with re-arranging e-Sword's layout. The first time, most folks get their layout screwed up and can't figure out how to get it back. The only way that I know of to get back to the original layout is to go to HELP=>Reset E-Sword Settings, this works perfectly, EXCEPT it also erases all of the bookmarks and sets them to John 3:16.

I agree on splitting the settings into 1) resetting the layout and 2) resetting all the other settings (colors, fonts, bookmarks, resource tab configuration, etc). I realized this issue the other day when updating the manual but did not think to split the settings in two as you suggest. It's a great idea.

Creation of the refx module type that prevents anyone from editing the module (subset of your #2).
Interface/Menu Changes
The title of the Lookup Scripture Reference window (where the bible books and chapters are located--on the far left by default) changed to "Bible Books"
Removal of the Step book icon from the main interface.
Options > Tooltip Font menu item moved to the Options > Fonts screen.
Options > Spellcheck Options menu item moved to Editor Options > Spellcheck Options screen.
Reduction of the File menu.
Removal of the Edit menu
Removal of the Format menu.
Thanks Josh.
I was wondering if the Home, Pg Up, Pg Dn, End button were enabled in the previous versions, as they seem to work now in e-Sword 10. Also, a neat feature I've discovered is using Ctrl+Mouse Wheel to Zoom in/out. Seems to work in all the windows. Is this a new feature as well?

Or you can do this:
1) Click Commentary/Search
2) Type "$" into the search field.
3) Choose the search option: "Regular Expressions (REGEX)"
4) Click the binoculars icon to search.

searching with regular expression is a very advanced feature that most of us do not understand. I think this is an area that really needs to be explored, explained, and exercised. Josh has written some fine explanation that is in the manual. We need to have some practice lessons on line. Perhaps a group chat could be set up with Mr. Bond leading us through several examples. The chat room would give us an opportunity for multiple feedback with Q/A.

***Sweats***...
Let's make Rick host a chat and answer questions on regular expressions,
All I really know about how e-Sword uses regular expressions is already in the manual (except for some tips like this which I'm adding now). Just don't ask me anything that's not in there. (like those teachers in school where if you asked something that wasn't in the textbook, you got the deer in the headlights look).
If you go to the Study Notes, and click the search icon. It automatically populates the left pane with verses that have study notes. So since the user can achieve the same result with the Commentary search, I suggested to Rick he add a checkbox that allows the user to do the same once in the Commentary search to avoid a user having to do a regular expression search. Most people have no business using a regular expression search--it's more for the "Bible shootout" types...

Also, (and this would apply to all searches) an option to copy and paste all the searched items together. It would be great, specially when making a study.

1) Split the reset settings into two parts a) layout settings and b ) everything else. That way, when someone plays with the layout settings and can't restore their original layout, they won't lose their other settings.
2) I think you're going to get a lot of support requests about the Reference Library (where did my topics go?). From a usability perspective, it's hard to find (even for me, I had to email you that day). If you can spare the screen space, I would put "Reference Library" or "Library" as a main menu item between "Dictionary" and "Tools" on the main menu. That gives it more exposure before someone doesn't see it and emails you.
#1 was declined but maybe the commentaries functionality will make it in a future dev cycle, so the user doesn't have to type in a "$" regular expression search.

so was "1) Split the reset settings into two parts a) layout settings and b ) everything else." what was declined?
