If that isn't part of your problem, have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling. I'd copy all resources to a backup spot if you haven't already.

Hi Patchworkid
What u suggested, didn't work for me.
I checked and found firstly that all my eSword modules are located in my C:\Program Files\e-Sword folder.
I also checked in eSword and found that the selected folder under 'Options\Resource' shows C:\Program Files\e-Sword as well.
So for some reason the new version is not reading the 430 modules, therefore the error messages.
I did notice however in eSword that all the modules I've downloaded in the "Download" menu are all available again. These I've downloaded in the past, and used to show "Installed".
So I don't know what to do next. I can re-download them, but then what about the 1000 other modules I've downloaded since February 2010?
I'll appreciate some further help please.
Thanks and God bless!
Rick Meyers responded with a much more simple idea. Are you upgrading from e-Sword 8? Did you rename the modules from filename.bbl to filename.bblx ; filename.cmt to filename.ctmx and so forth? Surely not...?

Could you post a list of those resources.So for some reason the new version is not reading the 430 modules, therefore the error messages.
but then what about the 1000 other modules I've downloaded since February 2010?
Is that list of 430 resources a subset of this list of resources.
If not, could you also post a list of these resources.
Ideally, for both lists, include:
- The resource name;
- The file name;
- The hash value;
- The file size;
- The resource creation date, if available;
I'm aware of two different possibilities. With hash values/file size, I might be able to confirm/reject one, or both possibilities.

Rick has another suggestion. Assuming you did not rename the files on an upgrade from e-Sword 8, I believe this is the answer.
You need to make the Windows permissions on the e-Sword program directory and its contents to allow "Everyone" full control. I just changed the permissions on a commentary and when e-Sword loaded, it gave the exact error you're seeing. If you need help setting permissions, I'll walk you through it in chat.

This is a significant build prior to final release. Rick would like for everyone running some previous flavor of version 10 to upgrade to 10.0.3. This release includes a lot of bug fixes from folks both on the user group and elsewhere.
One of the changes is that everyone can have the Hebrew and other right-to-left Bibles included in the Parallel Bible. Rick will also monitor the threads here and the usergroup for any issues.

Hoping something like this is not to far off for eSword
Whilst a picture is worth a thousand words, it helps if you also specifically state what features and functions that the screenshot depicts, that you'd like e-Sword to replicate.
###
The current acid test of Biblical Software, is the ability of the software to complete all five criteria laid out in the 2009 SBL Biblical Software Shootout. By using custom created resources, that are not legally re-distributable, and some auxiliary tools, e-Sword can complete all of those functions.

Personally I would really like to see a detailed list of bugs that were fixed :-) and any remaining known issues.

on your front page, you make this assertion: "2) You will use the Reference Library to view your downloaded topics files rather than the Topics Editor." Now, if I understand things correctly, that is not true in an absolute sense. Viewing of .topx files will be completely dependent upon where they are placed on the hard drive. If the user is using eSword default settings, all .topx files will continue to be viewable by the .topx editor window by extracting/placing them in the "...Documents/e-Sword" folder. (One caveat: 10x functionality of graphics/tables/charts will be unseen in the 10x Topic Window.)
I think this is important to note. While I believe it is better to view them in the Refviewer, they don't have to be viewed in the refviewer.
Here's another option: the end user could put all of his/her .topx files - even his/her personal ones - in the "...Program Files(...)\e-Sword" folder. That way, they could be viewed in the Refviewer, and edited in the Topic Editor.

Dave,
You can circumvent the Reference Library and view downloaded topics in the Topics Editor. But that is not what the e-Sword developer had in mind. He wants people to use the Reference Library to view third-party (downloaded) topx files so they can use the new Reference Library features. So, that's my official position, per the specific request of Rick. And that will be reflected in the manual that I'm updating. Rick explained that the topics editor is now like the other editors--it's intended only for writing your personal topic notes in my documents\e-sword. For what little it's worth, I also agree with this, personally--we should view topx files in the Reference Library to leverage it's features.
Your suggestion about my documents\e-sword does work, technically speaking. But there's little reason for 99% of people to do that. For them, the default install file locations work fine.
