I've heard the following:

Most of the good materials out of copyright that can be distributed freely have already been done;

The source materials for many works are so poor or incomplete that they are difficult or impossible to use;

Permissions were denied on many good materials still in copyright.

"Good" in many cases is strictly a 'subjective' term, similar to the difference betwixt 'meat' and 'milk'.  There are literally hundreds of texts available to be processed into eSword modules, but the effort to transform these texts is more than most people are willing to expend.

Perhaps 'value' or how a person values an eSword module would be one perspective.  Transforming an old text of a missionaries biography doesn't seem to have much value when compared to a commentary, except for the young believer wondering how he may serve Christ amongst non-believers (which are increasing daily).  Apologetics and Islam is another group of modules missing.  Vast numbers of hymnals are available to feed the hungry hearts for those willing to sit down and transform them.  Then, of course, there are the many "Complete Works of ___ (fill in the blank)" available.

Acorns grow into mighty oak trees, given half the chance....

As highly as I might esteem myself, I find that I am NOT the Holy Spirit.  At best, I'm merely something God may choose to use.  Likewise, God might choose to use the author of any book I would transform into an eSword module.  His tool, His choice.  I've not been given permission to change syntax or intent, rather just transcribe the authors verbiage.  I can be assured that the Holy Spirit will only use those things which promote the work of Christ on the readers heart.

Well said...

Most of us tend to forget that we have all become believers by securing different roots... and God, being gracious, allows all denominations of faith to exist. This does to designate that we all end up upon heaven's threshold, but as Larry stated... this depends on whether we want to feed ourselves on milk or meat. There's only one true source of information, and that is what God has placed within our hands... the Holy Bible. If we are going to start judging and tossing out commentaries, this should have happened long ago...

May God bless us all...

The number of new e-Sword modules submitted to BibleSupport have dramatically declined over the last few years. You can assign whatever reasons you want to for this fact. Regardless, I'm out of this discussion, so you have the last word.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Josh Bond, his staff, and the many contributors who have made BibleSupport what it is. I know that God is using it for His Glory. I also give thanks that God's Word never returns to Him void. It always accomplishes His Will and Purpose. From the Home Page:

Thanks for the statistics. It truly shows what can be done with a group of people coming together in God's name...

That's not being questioned new modules have dropped the reason for your post after you explained what you meant by it is not being questioned its the meaning and wording of the post that tells a different story

totally agree this site is a blessing to thousands if not millions of people and not being questioned  PR

I thought that was obvious - fewer new modules that can be made for use on Bible Support.

by using "good materials" your saying that everything that is made now is not good and that is clear that, that is what that post says as evidence by the other posts on that post

it would had been claerer and simpler to just say what you said when questioned

"fewer new modules that can be made for use on Bible Support."

If anyone out there is building a module(s) keep working on it and post it let the down-loaders determine if its good or not

Thank you for the last word

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Are there instructions anywhere on how to create a Reference Module? I thought I would find it in the documentation for ToolTip NT but did not.

You can create a reference module in Tooltip NT, you need to do the following:

1) Open Tooltip NT
2) From the menu across the top of Tooltip select ModulesHD and drop down menu will open
3) From the drop down menu select "Module Define Variables" which will open a second drop down menu with a list of different module types
3) The first option from this second menu is labeled "REFI - HD Reference Module" click this and Tooltip will set up the required variables needed to create reference module.
4) Once the variables are set up displayed you can then copy and paste your notes into Tooltip
5) When You have all of your notes copied and the text arranged as you want it, select "ModulesHD" from the menu to open the drop down menu again, and from the drop down menu select the option labeled "Save REFI Module" Once the modules finished saving you will have a module that will work with the Apple/Mac versions of E-Sword

Does an e-sword or MySword module exist for the Chichewa language (also called "Chewa" or "Nyanja," spoken in Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania)? An old thread suggests one may exist but the link is gone.

Thanks for any help.
