Hi, I wouldn't bother anyone with this question, but Every time I try to create a new topic, this window pops up saying:  "ERROR ADDING TOPIC"

I have Windows 10 and have been using E-sword for many years, so this is a surprise.

I've backed up my topic notes, etc. in the e-sword folder.

I uninstalled e-sword and reinstalled it and tried some other tactics but nothing works. I still get that same window popping up.

Please help. Thank you.

It would be helpful to know.

  • If you have changed anything recently like moving to Windows 10
  • Is it a new computer and you copied these files to the new computer
  • Was it working recently, like last week
  • Have you recently added some anti-virus program that could be stopping access to the file
  • Have you got the file in the default location so you have write access. So that would normally be in your documents folder.

If you look at your resource locations via the Options -> resource settings -> What is the path to your user files location?

The answer to the first two questions is, No.

  • Was it working recently, like last week?  It stopped working about 2 months ago.
  • Was last working about 2 months ago.
  • No new antivirus. Same as always.
  • The file is in the users section where it's always been.

I've uninstalled it.  Reset it. But now I'm thinking what if I remove the TOPICS module (If that's possible) and then add it again? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. I appreciate it, even if I don't find a solution.

I'm trying to figure out how to share this with you. I uploaded Topics module to OneDrive and this should be the correct link.

Thanks I have taken the link down.[JPG]

No problem with the file itself. I was able to add a topic and content and save it. So we established it is not a faulty database.

So over to anyone else.

Is it possible to uninstall e-sword, clean every trace of it from my computer and then install it and add those modules?
