Well, I got myself into a sort of a new project that is suppose to keep me from getting into mischief. But hey, if I stopped from being mischievous, that would ruin all the fun, so with all the mischief one can muster, I decided to edit the Strong's numbers in the KJV+TVM Bible for e-Sword.

Below is a screenshot of where I am currently at with this mischievous project (trouble is being brewed).

So now you can see what I am up too.

Just some Technical stuff:

The previous default code for the Strong's numbered Bibles was \cf11\super. The new default rtf code for the Strong's Numbered Bibles is, \fs20\cf12\super.

  • fs means font size
  • 20 means 20 half points, which actually means 10 points of the actual size of the font
  • cf means font color, and the and the number given, e.g., 11 or 12 etc., refers to the actual color of the font.
  • super means Superscript.

Trust you find this geeky information both useful and helpful.

Blessings,

Why not use the PC to Apple conversion utility?

Why not use the PC to Apple conversion utility?

I could, but all the Conversion Utility does is merely converts rtf code to HTML. It doesn't change the font size and/or the font color. In other words, the format remains the same. It doesn't change.

Another thing is, I suck at HTML, and I'm relatively safe with rtf. After I'm done and dusted (finished) with this project, I might convert it to a bbli file. But then I might not. Depends on the mood I'm in. Emotions have a great deal to so with it.

Uh-uh.gif A real worry.

I did the same to the Alford Bible I made. I just did a search and replace in the Sql and was done and dusted in 6 seconds... I did eventually use the converter to make it more compliant in e-S.

It changes rtf {\cf11\super ....} to html <num>....</num> and e-Sword gives that the font color and font size you want. So it does change ;)

Currently testing it. Let you know the results when complete

Tested it, and you're correct on that. And of which I appreciate your input.

That said, there are those who are using older versions of e-Sword which only reads bblx files (e-Sword versions 9x and 10x), and cannot read HTML formatted files. So as to whether or not go ahead with the project is another story. If I decide to go ahead, I think I'll do it in T4 rather than take the long route using SQLite Database Browser.
