e-Sword 12.2 Released August 28, 2020.
New Dim Light greenish background color which may ease eye strain for some people.
Bible Search improved to locate words that include accents on the first or last character.
User-made Bible modules can now include footnotes in the text and database.
If updating an existing e-Sword installation then make sure it is not already open when you run the setup, otherwise its files cannot be updated.
To download and install e-Sword on your PC, please follow these simple steps:
Click the top button that says "e-Sword Install".
When your browser's Save dialog appears, choose "Save" to start the download.
Open/Run the file (for example by opening the folder where you saved it and double-clicking the installation file). There is no need for uninstalling older versions before updating. The installation program guides you through the rest of the process. It is recommended to use the default settings for installation.

If Version 12.2 allows for the use of Footnotes, etc., how

does one utilize this feature in the creation of his/her modules?

I know how to create modules, and have created quite a few,

but would like some documentation, video help, etc. on how to

use this feature to add to my modules.

Perhaps I missed the coverage of this feature in the documentation

of the ToolTip editor.  Anyone care to explain this one???

Thanks....

Just woundering, now that I think of it. Would be nice to have the anility to click on a footnote and instead of being taken to the end oof a page, to have the footnote simply "pop-up" when you click on the link for the footnote.

Still need documentation on this. E-sword website ought to make smalll documsntation for significant changes not covered in the docs for the Toolrip editor.

This idea of a footnote that "pops up" when you click on it, isnt new..This feature exists in Lifewsy's WORDSearch Bible. If someone could explain the footnote feature in e-Sword 12.2, I would geatly appreciate it...

Hi, djmarko53, I suggest you send a request direct to Rick Meyers at https://www.e-sword.net/feedback.html

because he is the owner of the e-Sword application, and would be able to update the e-Sword user manual with relevant details.

Ok. Thanks. I will.

Actually the person you need to talk to is Josh Bond because the User Guide was produced by him, and is a product of BibleSupport.com.

You best bet is to message him directly from here.

Blessings,

Stephen (Php1:21)

e-sword-122-released
Please note that Rick Meyers has added an entry on the FAQ page with the following answer to a Frequently Asked Question.
E-SWORD 13 DOESN'T RUN ON LINUX! NOW WHAT?
If you are unable to get the Windows Media Player installed under WINE, then the last stable version of e-Sword on LINUX is version 12.2 which you can download here:
[ Please refer to the link on https://www.e-sword.net/faq.html ] (off site)

Please note that Rick Meyers has added an entry on the FAQ page with the following answer to a Frequently Asked Question.
I JUST INSTALLED E-SWORD 13 AND IT WILL NOT START!
e-Sword 13 requires that the Windows Media Player is both installed and enabled. Instructions for doing so are available here:
[ Please refer to the link on https://www.e-sword.net/faq.html ] (off site)

Please note that some of the download files on BIBLESUPPORT (dot) COM have been provided with an .exe extension in which the programmer assumed that the user will have put their personal e-sword resources in a local file, off This PC, on the C: drive on the current PC and not on another diskdrive, or with another route to their path to the ...\documents\e-Sword folder, and to the Program Files(x86)\e-Sword folder. The user may subsequently have to move or copy the installed files, if they access their PC from different user names, and then use a version of e-Sword which has linked their Resources option to different drives and paths and folders.
