I have Committed 7.0/18.2 GB and Cached 4.1 GB (if I use it together with Firefox, Media Player Classic and notepad), otherwise is it maximum 4GB.
With much more Bibles loaded.
And Yes, Compare and Parallel are also slow loaded on my computer.
But the copy and paste make no raise of memory on my computer.

Do you use Screenshot programs or multi copy and paste programs or smart key programs? If yes, turn them off.

Do the same test with Task Manager and Process. (without video capture)
Look to the active Apps and Background processes.
Is there any other App or Background process that use much memory or has above "Low" Power usage?

Also when the print spooler service is disabled then problem goes away. I have no idea why!

btw, no need for copy paste.

To replicate you can

1. select text in a bible

2. choose parallel (loaded with 3 or more bibles)

3. resize the window repeatedly.

After almost 24 hours, I have managed to solve this issue as painless as possible.

The best way is to actually remove almost all printers and reinstall them.

The only printers that I did not remove were 'One Note' and 'Send to One Note'.

Everything else including the printers from 'optionalfeatures.exe' had to be removed and reinstalled after a reboot.

Now e-sword is OK, with COMMITTED never above 9GB.

Very strange problem considering that printing has nothing to do with e-sword which does not even have a print function!

Well, I hope it does not return.

Thanks to Bug Hunter for your help in replicating this.

Well, stranger things have happened, which can be put to the category of weird.

Don't know if this helps.  I too replicated the actions and the most commitment I had was 10.7 GB.  That seems high for what the app is doing but once it peaked there it never went higher.  Have had performance issues with Office365 apps but I believe I have it narrowed down to some security policy issues.  Glad you found the solution!

Information about the location of user files, and the need for a printer printer driver, received from Rick Meyers, the developer of e-Sword.

"You can host your user files wherever you like, even the cloud.  Just copy the files to the new location, then update the "User Files Location" path to the directory that contains all of your user files."

"A printer driver is needed for the editor control we use.  A physical printer is not needed, but you should at least have an "Adobe PDF" printer set up."
