I love being able to simply highlight a verse ref, copy it to the clipboard and hit a hotkey to see the search results from eSword but after I use it for a while it just quits working. I've only used it twice and it's done the same thing both times. I'm on Windows 8  copying from Word 2013. The only fix that seems to resolve the issue is to close everything down and restart my computer. Any ideas?

It sounds like you are using the view in e-Sword method of Hotkey. Things to try:

- change your hotkey, perhaps there is a conflict that occurs after is starts running

- try closing just HotKey and restarting it.  NOTE - you must use the Quit menu if running the latest version.

- try bringing the Hotkey window to the forefront, and manually type in a scripture reference and press Return, does e-Sword display it?  NOTE - e-Sword should be running for these tests.

Have you installed the e-Sword Macros?  If so, does the hotkey for this function work?

 Automatically starts when Windows starts.

Can this feature be turned off if one doesn't wish it to start up with Windows?

Does msconfig.exe still exist for Windows 8?

If it does, then you should be able to turn it off (configure your startup) from within that utility.

HI Roy,

Yes it does. Also one can exit a Start with Windows program from the System Tray on the task bar in Windows 8.1, if one wishes to.

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
