I have deleted all .bblx files (including the default KJV files) in the program’s directory because I wanted to put new Bible files there. When I started the program before putting the new files, a window appeared saying that the program was being configured and that a restart would be needed. At the end, I restarted the computer. When I tried to launch the program several times, it was frozen. So I uninstalled the program and installed it again. The newly installed program was again freezing. Therefore, I terminated the program’s process in Task Manager, uninstalled the program, deleted all entries in the Registry Editor which contain the word “e-sword” (there were very many of them in the entire registry), deleted all “e-sword” folders in the system’s folder AppData, restarted the computer, and tried to install the program again. When I ran the installation file, a window appeared saying: “The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel.”

 

How can I properly run the installation file in order that the program may be installed and may work properly?

Download CCleaner and clean (the Memory Dumps and Old prefech data).
Clean also the Registry.

Then install e-Sword.

Some time in the past, I used a registry cleaner (it was CCleaner, if I remember correctly). After I had used that software, I began experiencing some problem with the system. And I was subsequently told on a Microsoft forum that registry cleaners do more damage than good. Since running a registry cleaner may not be a safe option, is there another way to install e-sword? https://answers.micr...5a-7a57e6602ad7

You should also check your both your programs folder and your documents folder on your PC as e-Swords installs folders in both locations during installation. The folders in both Programs and Documents will be labeled "e-Sword" if one or both folders is present in either location delete them and try another install. 

If the above does not work you might to perform a System Restore on you PC to a date before the issue began. 

 

Also it is never a good idea to remove the modules that install with e-Sword during the programs initial installation.

I had deleted the program’s folder in the “Documents” folder also. I may have to install the program on another computer and then simply copy the program’s files onto the computer which I am using to see whether the program will launch.
