Now, if I can get my hands on an NIV 1984 file for E-sword would be great!  Anyone have a file they care to share?

You can get the 1984 edition of the NIV for e-Sword from eStudySource.com. Click here to purchase and download it.

The NIV1984 is bundled with the current edition of the NIV and the NIrV, and costs $24.99.

Before the 2011 edition of the NIV came out, I bought the 1984 edition, and this was bundled with the TNIV and NIrV editions. When the 2011 edition for e-Sword was released the publishers dropped the TNIV. That one is no longer available for e-Sword, and the only way one will be able to get it, is from those who still have it.

Trust you will find this helpful.

Blessings,

If you are interested in having or comparing various editions of the New World Translations and other books used by the JW there is an excellent site with all of the versions of New World Translations and other materials in pdf format:

https://avoidjw.org/bibles/

This site has translations of the JW bible dating back to 1960 along with a large number of other JW related publications.

Thanks, I am not really interested in comparing them to be honest, I was just interested in the 1984 and their latest editions thats all as they are good to use in Apologetics against the JW's.  Thanks though!

Blessings,

I actually purchased the NIV set yesterday, but it only has the NIV 2011 and the NIrV, no 1984 edition unless I'm missing something here??

BTW did you want a copy of the NWT 2013 module??

Dear fellow e-Sword Users,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the uploading

of the Jehovah Witness "World Translation" be in

disagreement of the Bible Support Website's policy?

When uploading a module, a portion of this policy

reads as follows....

Restricted Theology

Please do not upload material promoting, advocating, or proselytizing:

  • The Jehovah's Witnesses, Watchtower Society, or other cults.
  • Islam
  • Other material that denies the deity of Jesus Christ. If you're unsure,
you may upload anyway, but the material is subject to a review.

I recall in recent years, when a similar module was

uploaded to this website.  When it was pointed out

to Josh Bond, I remember it being removed the

same day it was posted.  Has this policy been changed?

After all, it is not a faithful translation of God's Word.

You are correct about the bible support policy regarding modules related to organizations such as JW

The 1984 edition of the New World Translation can be downloaded from a website called e-Sword Library
