I am wondering if the Young's Analytical Concordance is being prepared for e-Sword? This would be a great addition to the dictionaries already available. Or perhaps there is one available in some other format online?

Thanks so much,

George

First, there is no e-Sword module for that concordance although it has been asked for in the past.

The primary reason is due to there being no usable digital copy available from which to create a module. There is a digital copy online at the Internet Archive but that copy is not very good and missing at least two pages. If a usable or workable copy can be found then a module can be made.

There is Crudence, then Young's, and finally Strong's. So here is where those concordances fit:

  • Crudence for the crude
  • Young's for the young
  • And Strong's for the strong

Well, that is what I was told nearly 50 years ago. So I guess its gotta be true.

Blessings,

Stephen (Php 1:21).

BDB/Thayer/Strong Definitions + KJ Concordance + TVM All in One Dictionary

in Bible Support   and the

King James with Strongs #  thru E-Sword downloads

Young's Analytical Concordance has it's place but if you want to do a word search then I would recommend the files listed above. I have a copy of the Youngs but have not used it in years.

Lookup Anguish in the Young's and you will see a list of seventeen verses. If you lookup anguish in the KJV with strongs you will get the same list of seventeen verses but you also have the strongs #'s.

When you lookup the strong's # in BTSCTVM+ you will also get a list of other words and locations that the Hebrew or Greek # may be translated into. Example H6862

Total KJV Occurrences: 109
• adversaries, 21
Deu_32:27; Deu_32:43; Jos_5:13; Ezr_4:1; Neh_4:11; Psa_81:14; Psa_89:42; Isa_1:24; Isa_9:11; Isa_59:18; Isa_63:18; Isa_64:2; Jer_30:16; Jer_46:10; Jer_50:7; Lam_1:5; Lam_1:7; Lam_1:17; Lam_2:17; Mic_5:9; Nah_1:2

• adversary, 6
Est_7:6; Psa_74:10; Lam_1:10; Lam_2:4; Lam_4:12; Amo_3:11

• adversity, 1
Isa_30:20

• afflicted, 1
Isa_63:9

• affliction, 3
Psa_106:44; Hos_5:15; Zec_8:10

• anguish, 1
Job_7:11

G4730

Total KJV Occurrences: 4
• anguish, 1
Rom_2:9

• distress, 1
Rom_8:35

• distresses, 2
2Co_6:4; 2Co_12:10

IMHO the KJV+ and the BTSCTVM+ work much better and faster. Like they say "why reinvent the wheel"
