Dear e-Sword users,

I have been creating e-Sword modules for several years now.

However, I have just encountered a situation that won't let me

add information to a commentary on Revelation that I have uploaded

in the past week.   It is the Restoration Commentary on Revelation.

It is currently over 7  MB in size and has a lot of info and comments

in it.

The problem I just encountered, happened when I created some

book marks and then some Hyperlinks to point to the Bookmarks.

Now, Tool tip Editor will not allow me to compile the .rtf file into

the desired .cmti file.

Here is the first error Message I get in ToolTip:

Report the following:
WS FULL ERROR
HtmlRemStyle[15]     p←a,¨b[↑¨Where ¨(⊂b)>¨a]
                              ^
_____________________________________________

HtmlRemStyle[15] *
CGenHD[97]
>[fmTxCtrl.mModulesHD.mCmti;Click]
<[fmTxCtrl;Wait]
Start[106]

After I click on 'OK' in the Error window, I get

the follow message from the Tooltip Editor:

ERROR

VALUE ERROR
Unable to process the following book name:
Rev

Processing aborted

Please note that I am using the latest version of
the Tooltip Editor.  Now, if i delete most of my Book
Notes for Revelation where the Bookmarks are
located, the problem goes away.  I take the text I
have deleted, try to clean it up in Notepad and Word,
then Paste it back into the BookNote(s) for Revelation,
and the problem is back and once again, the .rtf file
will no longer compile.

I have sent a private message to Josh Bond, but hope
that someone on Bible Support can offer me some
suggestions.   I think the problem lies possibly in the
Bible Class Notes that i added to the BookNotes for
this module.  Not sure, but the problem didn't popup
until I created about my 20th bookmark then Tooltip
started displaying the error message(s) that I listed
above.

Any ideas??  Too much formatting to redo everything.

I am open to suggestions.   I have been creating modules
for e-Sword for several years now and have never seen
this happen......

PS.  I am using the latest version of e-Sword on a all-in-one

Hewlett Packard system, with DVD-Reader/Writer, 1TB HDD,

2TB external HDD and 4MB Ram on the Motherboard with

Windows 10.  Have created dozens of modules on this system

and uploaded over the past two years.....

Is there a way to delete all of my Bookmarks in the Commentary

file(module)?   I mean in the actual .rtf file.  Delete them all and

start from scratch.

I was just wanting to put a simple menu at the beginning of the

Book Notes for this Single-Book Commentary on Revelation.  You

know, to make it easier to navigate the hundreds of pages of

text.  Didn't have this problem until adding the bookmarks and

hyperlinks....

Thanks....

Dear e-Sword Users,

I have attached the .RTF file for the Commentary on Revelation.

This is the file that i am having the problem with.  If anyone can

make this problem go away, I will be most grateful.  Please, don't

laugh at the formatting, but so far it has worked just fine until this

problem popped up....

Thanks....

I just had a look at the file. You need to go through your marks and check that the references are valid, some were way off. So just search for ÷Rev and you will encounter them. It should compile ok.

÷Rev 31-6

÷Rev 1119

÷Rev 18;20

÷Rev 201-3

Also suggest you run the Validate References in T4 as there are some to fix in the text itself.

In many places a zero has been used instead of the letter o. Typical of 0cr, sorry ocr.  ;)

The whole document needs putting into Word and spell checking

Wow! Don't know what to say. Almost all editing I do is in Word. I must say that I have never encountered this issue before. To show my ignorance, didn't realize the ability of Tooltip to validate references other than highlight text and hold down Control-Shift and press the 'T' on the keyboard.

To: JPG and others...

Well, think I have solved the problem, but not sure what

caused it in the first place.  Unless I had to many programs

running while using the Tooltip Editor.

I created a new .rtf file with the necessary header information

that is found in all .cmti and/or .cmtx files.  Next I created

the Book Notes afresh for Revelation.   I copied portions of

the .rtf file that was giving me fits, and pasted each portion

into WORD.  Then I used the Control-Shift-F9 Action to delete

all the unecessary formatting.  The good thing is that it preserves

the formatting created in Tooltip Editor.   Next I pasted these

portions into  the newly created .rtf file and using T4 validated

all references.  So far, I am almost done with the massive amt.

of information in the Book Notes.   Later today I will do that

with the Verse Notes, probably doing the same thing, but doing

one chapter at a time until the commentary is complete.  Last

but not least, I will make a backup of a fully functioning file just

in case I need it down the road.

Guess I will use more restraint in creating Bookmarks and

Hyperlinks.  Think that is where my problem started.

Also, if anyone knows how to delete all Bookmarks in a

.rtf file can you reply to this message and tell me how.  Have

never seen good information telling how to delete all my bookmarks

Am I missing something there?   Haven't seen that ability in

ToolTip (T4) Editor.  If that function is there, where do I find it?

Thanks for all the responses.....

Make a Word macro. I don't recall where or when I got this one but it does the job.

To remove individual bookmarks in Word follow this

Delete a bookmark
  1. Click Insert > Bookmark.

  2. Click either Name or Location to sort the list of bookmarks in the document.

  3. Click the name of the bookmark you want to delete, and then click Delete.

  4. If you have inserted a hyperlink to the deleted bookmark, right-click the linked text and then click Remove Hyperlink.

Note: To delete both the bookmark and the bookmarked item (such as a block of text or other element), select the item, and then press Delete.

Sub BookmarksDeleteAllBookmarksInDoc()

  Dim objBookmark As Bookmark
  Dim nBookmark As Integer
  Dim strButtonValue As String
  Dim objDoc As Document

  Application.ScreenUpdating = False

  Set objDoc = ActiveDocument
  nBookmark = objDoc.Bookmarks.Count
  If nBookmark > 0 Then
strButtonValue = MsgBox("Do you want to remove all " & nBookmark & " bookmark(s) in this document?", vbYesNo)
    If strButtonValue = vbYes Then
      For Each objBookmark In objDoc.Bookmarks
        objBookmark.Delete
      Next objBookmark
MsgBox ("All bookmarks in this document have been deleted.")
    Else
      Exit Sub
    End If
  End If

  Application.ScreenUpdating = True

End Sub

My hat's off to you!

Don't think I have ever created a macro for Word,

but with the code you sent, sounds like what's right

up my alley....
