Difficulty opening eSword 10.1.10

After installing some modules from the site, I receive an error message which says that Topics cannot be found. Repeated attempts to get rid of the flash panel then give the screen message: ERROR OPENING TOPIC NOTES DATABASE. I can then clear this message and use eSword but the Editors panel (Journal Notes/Study Notes/Topic Notes) shows no data. Is this intentional due to the change in how the software handles commentaries etc?

Any help appreciated as I make much use of this software.

Scripture Tool Tips

Hi All,

First things first, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, and eSword 10.1.0.

In eSword I selected Options->Scripture Tool Tip..., and set both the OT and NT options to King James(KJV).

Now, here is the issue that I am having.

Regardless the version of Bible, I may have open in the scripture pane, as long as "that" version has the scripture the tooltip points to in it, the scriptures display.

If, however, for what ever reason, the version of the bible that has been selected does not have those verses in it, nothing displays when I hover over the tooltip.

An example would be a version that combines several scriptures together as a paragraph, but only gives the 1st verse's number.

An example would be Wuest NT, Mark 1:1 combines verses 1-3. Make a tooltip for verse 1 and verse 1 displays.

Make the tip for verses 1-3 and verses 1 through 3 display (all in KJV as expected).

But make the tooltip for Mark 1:2 and nothing displays. In fact, you get an error dialog (if you are the one creating the tooltip) that says you have entered an invalid reference.

This also happens if you have, say an OT only bible open, and try to create a NT scripture tooltip.

You also get no scriptures displayed if you are using, say a commentary, which already has the tooltips formatted in it.

But if you switch to a different bible which does have those scriptures in it, the tooltips work correctly again.

I would have thought the way it should work is, since I specifically said all tooltips will display KJV, reguardless the bible version I currently have open, is exactly that.

I have the NLT open, it should display KJV. I have NIV open it should display KJV.

Well, it does display KJV, regardless, but only if the currently selected bible also has those verses in it.

Am I missing something somewhere? Is it just me, and I have not configured eSwore correctly? Or is this a known bug that I missed reading about?

Any thoughts, ideas, fixes, help, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Format questions - mapx and v10

Are the formats of mapx in v9+ available? (I have a pdf that has bblx, cmtx, and the dictionary - and the devx format is simple)

But I don't know what the Picture field format is in a mapx file.

Also, the v10 files I've heard can have pictures embedded within files.

Is there any documentation about this?

Or are all the above being kept from us for some reason - I know Mr Myers has his reasons.

btw- I do not want to use TooltipsNT - tried it and didn't like it

But my main reason is I'm writing a C# module maker/converter for my self

That is how I learn new computer languages - by taking on tasks in the new language (I'm a computer programmer for a living: c++ mostly but I also know at least half a dozen other languages)

Hello,

1. Charles Finney "Systematic Theology". It's a top.exe file

The downloading is no problem and, when I go through the procedure demanded by the wizard, all seems to go well but they don't come up anywhere. I have downloaded similar files before (I think!) but haven't had this problem. Can you help? Thanks in anticipation.

Progress on Mongolian Bible Module?

A few years ago (2010), in the old support forum, there was some brief interest and activity towards creating an e-Sword module for the Mongolian Bible (Cyrillic alphabet). Has any progress been made on this?

I could find no such module existing at this point, though it looks like various Mongolian translation e-texts are floating around the internet rather freely.

I am supporting a pair of missionaries to Outer Mongolia, and a module like this would be of immense help to them.

I'm sorry, but I really hate the bright yellow color of the search highlight. I've de-selected "Highlight Search Results" in the "Options" menu, but my bible searches still have that bright yellow background on them. I've tried resetting the global e-Sword settings, but to no avail. Is it possible to either 1) turn off the search highlight color (thus having no color at all), or 2) change the color?
