On my mac, the eSword X, does not have a "red X" next to it with which you can delete topic. It works on my iPad. Any help??

Reading these difficulties that some people are having on their Apple devices, and replies giving help appears to be non-existent, gives me impression that very few or any know how to do things in e-Sword for Apple. Also this begs the question is there a user guide for e-Sword X, HT, and LT. If not, then maybe one needs to be developed and published.
Considering that I don't have or own an Apple product, I would be about as useful as a hip-pocket on a t-shirt to produce a user guide. Therefore it to be someone who has the trinity of Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, and Macbooks/PCs), and is adept and fully conversant with e-Sword on these devices to create and publish a user guide for them.

I’ve recently switched from PC to MAC and had the same issue as you.
What is did was create a new topic with the new name I want to use, then go to the old topic and copy all the text and paste into the new topic. The old topic will remain until you delete all the text from it.
You can also use CMD-X to cut the text and paste it into the new topic, but you need to be sure you have the correct data selected. Once you cut it and select the new topic the old topic will be deleted. So, if you paste it and it’s not correct, you can’t go back.
If you are comfortable with databases
Another way is with DB Browser for SQLite. You can google the homepage https://sqlitebrowser.org
Just make sure you get the macOS version.
There is a version on
http://www.biblesupp...tabase-browser/
But I think it’s only windows.
There is some information that talks about the E-sword being a database reader at.
http://www.biblesupp...atabases-part-1
From what I have seen it’s the same for E-sword X.
My topic file was located at Library>Containers>net.e-Sword-X>Data>Documents>.
File name is topic.topi. The easiest way use finder and search for the filename.
Open the DB Browser for SQLite.
Drag and drop the topic file onto the window of the DB Browser for SQLite APP.
It should open at the database structure. Click the Browse Data button. It will be near the top in a string of buttons.
Database Structure | Browse Data | Edit Pragmas | Execute SQL
After you hit Browser data you should have a list on the right side showing all your topics.
Click the data you want to edit, then type what you want your topic to read.
As you begin to type you may get a popup with suggestions. It’s like autofill in MS Excel.
Just type what you want then close the database.
You will get a popup asking you if you want to same your changes. Hit save.
Your topic name changes won’t appear until you close and reopen E-Sword-X.
If your comfortable working in databases then the second option will achieve the fastest results if you have multiple changes. I moved a lot of topic from my PC to MAC so this worked the best for me.
This was my first time using DB Browser for SQLite on Mac. There are a lot of options, but as long as you stay focused on the Browse Data area, its not overwhelming.
If you only need to change one topic, I would just create a new one and copy the data to it.
Hope this helps someone.
