Converting Thayer's Unabridged

Looking at the available modules here on bible support for Pocket e-Sword they are in the same format as the files for use with e-Sword 8 and earlier

Simple Bible Reader does have a conversion option for e-Sword 8 which will take an e-Sword 9 dictionary module such as a dictionary module with a dctx file extension and convert it to the e-Sword 8 dct file format. This should allow the module to run on both e-Sword 8 and Pocket e-Sword as both use the dct file format.

 
 

I've only tried the one module on Simple Bible Reader (SBR) and it was Thayer's Unabridged. The option I tried it with was eSword v8, and it wasn't accepted by Pocket eSword. 

My PPC  is a HP iPaq 214 and still has the same or similar tremendous battery life since I bought it back in 2008. It's a lot more robust and portable than my MS Tablet on journeys that are not work related, and is outstanding for note taking handwriters like me.

e-Sword 8.0.6 and lower use the Jet Database Engine (MS Access);

e-Sword 9.0 and higher use SQLite;

e-Sword Online uses MySQL;

Pocket e-Sword uses SQL Server;

e-Sword 8.0.6 and lower use the Jet Database Engine (MS Access);

e-Sword 9.0 and higher use SQLite;

e-Sword Online uses MySQL;

Pocket e-Sword uses SQL Server;

So what would have to happen to convert Pocket e-Sword to e-Sword is to first convert from SQL Server to SQLite which can be done as there are converter utilities to accomplish this. Once this is accomplished then creating a module for use with e-Sword should be easy

My, my... e-Sword Online. Now that is going a bit back in time.

With regard to this, if memory serves me correctly (and I hope it does), I don't think there were any resources available to upload for e-Sword Online. Moreover, I don't think one could even download resources from it.

Admittedly, I could be wrong on this simply because I've only used it about a couple of times, and from there totally forgot about it.

Oh yea, just remembered something: I think that the online version of e-Sword came out about during the days of version 7x of e-Sword, and that it was purposely created so one could use e-Sword when not at home and so not able to access one's Desktop PC. But now that we have thingys like tablets and Smart Phones, my guess is that e-Sword Online just died a gracious death.
