Hey all,

The training video on Study Notes (over on e-Sword.net) shows very clearly that after you choose your Scripture in the main Bible area, you need to depress the Sync button in the Study Notes Editor to match its Scripture area with the Bible area, BUT then press the Sync button again to deactivate it; it even warns you not to leave it depressed, but it doesn't say why.

I've noticed, though, that a few posts here as well as the Study Notes section in the manual say to to leave the Sync button depressed. So I'm a bit confused as to which I should do.

Finally, what is the difference that takes place if you do or do not leave the Sync button depressed?

Thanks.

The program version in this video is 6.5.1 which is quite old. I wouldn't rely on it very much. The current eSword version is 11.2.2

Syncing just means that whatever you have clicked on in the bible window, in this case a particular verse, should automatically show up in your study notes window. The verse number in the bible should also then be underlined to show that there is a study note connected to it.

Often you will have to close and re-open the program to see any changes. If in doubt: just close and re-open it.
