How can I convert a STEP book to an E-sword module. I am using a MAC and have my old STEP Library that I cannot use until they are converted to a module and then converted for use on a MAC.
Specifically I purchased the full MacAurthur Commentary set for quickverse that loaded into E-sword on a PC as a STEP file. It workd great! I need to convert the commentary so I can use it on the MAC version of E-sword. Will tooltipNT do this? Is there another app that will do this?
Thanks.
OK, here are my thoughts on this.
The STEP Library is a type of e-book reader. Pretty much the same way as epub, Kindle, and other e-book readers are, of which are capable of handling many electronic books. Right. Now these programs, for most, have and use their own database systems, of which differ vastly from the database system that e-Sword uses. The STEP Library is not an actual part of e-Sword, but rather interface is (with its code) actually imbedded in e-Sword. Sort of like an extension.
Rick Meyers has to pay either a royalty or a licence fee to the organization who owns STEP for the privilege of using it in e-Sword.
Now, with all that said, as to whether or not you can convert STEP Library resources to some other type of e-Sword resource, whether a dictionary, commentary, topic note, study note, devotional or some other type - I don't think so. However (as you can see, I really love using that word), if one cannot convert from STEP to e-Sword, this thingy about Copy and Paste, and more in particular with using STEP in conjunction with either Topic or Study Note editors, you have the magic of the Paste Into option of whichever editor you are using is perhaps the best way to go. That said, you can can also just select all, then copy paste into T4, and from there spit it out as an e-Sword resource. Not a problem at all.
Trust this has proved helpful to you.
Blessings,
