Please help!

I was having trouble with this.  The first verse of EVERY chapter was gibberish.  I deleted and reinstalled and it worked fine.  I have Windows 7 and e-Sword 11.1.0.

I have a friend that we couldn't get it to work.  After a LOT of checks, deletes, re-installations, etc., I asked about his OS.  He is using Windows 10 and has 11.1.0.

My wife's computer uses Windows 10.  Her HWSG module (www.biblesupport.com/e-sword-downloads/download/7819-full-vocalized-hebrew-bible-compilation-from-westmister-ot-and-salkinson-ginsburg-nt/) was completely messed up.  I deleted and reinstalled.  It worked fine.  Then I checked and she was using version 11.0.6.  I upgraded her to 11.1.0 and she now has the "first verse" problem.

SO, it seems there is a problem running HWSG on Windows 10 with version 11.1.0.  Anyone else have this and how did you correct it, if you did?

Here is what that combination looks like:

A Vision of a Flying Scroll

Zec 5:1 åÈàÈùÑåÌá åÈàÆùÌÒÈà òÅéðÇé åÈàÆøÀàÆä åÀäÄðÌÅä îÀâÄìÌÈä òÈôÈä:
A Vision of a Woman in a Basket

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the font settings in E-Sword and make sure that Titus Cyberbit Basic is selected as the font for Hebrew

as this is E-Swords default font for Hebrew

Thank you for the response, TJ.

I changed it to the default, but same problem.  All the Hebrew is fine -- except for verse 1 of EVERY chapter.  That is the issue and only seems to be for Windows 10 and version 11.1.0 of e-Sword.

Which version of the module do you have installed the one with the file extension bblx or bbli?

E-sword 11 can run both formats of the modules in windows. If you have the BBLX version installed trying deleting it and installing the BBLI version. E-Sword 11 has some issues with modules in the BBLX as this format was is used primarily for E-Sword versions 9 & 10

BINGO!!!!  We have a winner!

Thanks, so much, Tj!  I hadn't heard of this issue, but the .bbli works!

And just to add to this.  I had BOTH in MY folder.  I moved each out one at a time and the .bblx didn't work on my Windows 7, either.  That has now been deleted.

I was under the impression that the .bbli were only for the Apple products like my iPad.  I definitely learned something today!

Much appreciated.

-Ron

Yes the BBLI format modules are for use with Apple/MAC versions of E-Sword.

However starting with the release of the first version of E-Sword 11 for windows, the software was updated to be able to use both formats. Prior to the release of version 11 all Windows versions of E-Sword were coded to use modules created using strictly Rich Text Format or RTF. All versions E-sword for use on Apple/Mac devices were coded to use modules that were created in html format. This change to E-Sword for windows was allows for modules with more features including Pop Ups and links.

Glad I could help
