Is there an ESV with Strong's numbers? I have only seen verse notes, that start with R (for Reference), and a strange numbering system, in the ESV+. I'd love one with Strong's numbers. I keep a copy of the KJV with Strong's numbers in my esword, but it is awkward to use, because I am inevitably drawn to it after using the ESV, and the two don't always align perfectly. :)

What is a bit confusing is that the KJV+ module shows Strong's numbers, whereas the ESV+ does not. (Unless I am missing a setting).

The ESV+ module is not a Strong's number bible module.

The ESV+ contains Popup cross references and footnotes within the bible verses. Cross Reference notes are denoted by notation starting with the letter R such as R1, footnotes are denoted by a notations starting with the letter N such as N1. When you move the mouse over these notations in a bible verse the popup note will automatically display

The only way to save the text notes in NASB+ and ESV+ is to hit F4 and then paste into the Editor.  From there you can click on the hyperlink.  There isn't a CMTX file for NASB+ or ESV+.  NET+ does have a CMTX file and the footnotes will link to the CMTX if you have at as an active resource.

I have read all the posts and remain unclear on how this is supposed to function.  With the cursor hovering on any cross-reference (R0) or footnote (N1) in the ESV+ version, the contents WILL display - unless the cursor is moved then it disappears!  If there is a hyperlink within the displayed note, it cannot be selected because the reference does not remain open.  Selecting f4, does allow to "paste" the entire ® or (N) note to the Editor screen (to Notepad or any word processor) although any hyperlinks included are still not accessible by following the instructions ("CTRL + click to follow link") on the link.

This is very "clunky" - are all of the "+" Bibles (with cross-reference/footnotes) designed to function in this manner?

In the case of the ESV+ module I believe the cross references were copied from the ESV commentary module into the pop-up notes. The commentary module has all of the cross references tooltipped so the cross referenced verse appears in a pop-up note. The cross references in the ESV+ bible module are colored green just as they appear in the commentary module.

As for modules with the "+" sigin in the tab, in most cases the plus indicates that bible text includes Strongs Numbers not pop up notes. With a couple of exceptions as show below

The NASB2020+ module includes Strongs numbers, pop-up footnotes and popup cross references, here again the cross references were copied from the NASB commentary module as they are colored green as they are in the commentary module

The only other bible module that has pop-up notes is the Amplified Bible Module with the tab AMP+ the footnotes are presented in pop-up notes, while cross references are presented seperately in brackets such as [2Co. 4:6]

Thank you for the prompt response, Tj!

I'm still unsure how to access any verse or additional information hyperlinks in the pop-up's - can you offer any insight?

You can't as I said the cross-references were copied from the ESV commentary module which is what you need

Thank you, again, Tj!

I'm a newbie to e-Sword . . . I found an esv+.zip file in one of the threads which is supposed to include all the data I'm seeking.  It has been loaded and still not seeing anything new.  Any suggestions?

You need to have the ESV commentary file, esv.cmtx installed in your e-Sword folder, if you don't have it I can email it to you
