What am I doing incorrectly with this download?

I download Rainbow Bible to my e-sword folder. Upon opening my e-sword I noticed that "Rainbow Bible" did not appear in the Bible window page.

I did the following:

1. I went to the "options" tab at the top of the page and click "resource," then click on the yellow folder to the right of  "resources location."

2. I click on Rainbow v 1.0, and a popup window says "I will see Rainbow Bible when I open e-sword." I opened my e-sword and "Rainbow Bible"

was there. However, all other installed Bible versions, dictionaries, commentaries were missing; even my reference library was completely empty

    - as if I did not install anything in these locations.

3. I went to "Reset e-sword setting" and ran a reset, to start all over again. The Rainbow Bible is fully installed again, but everything in Bible,

Commentary, Dictionary and reference library is missing.

Thanks

You should download the module installer and install the rainbow bible not run it as resource from the resource library.

If the module was installed try the following:

When you click Option>Resource a window should open containing five lists of installed modules. The lists are from right to left Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, Devotions, Graphics. Each list has the modules that are installed with a check box next to each module. Each list in alphabetical order based on the tab name for each module. The Rainbow Bible, is listed as KJV-Rainbow. Scroll through the list of installed bible modules until you find KJV-Rainbow and see if the check box is checked or not if it is not checked, then check it and The Rainbow Bible should appear in the bibles window

This download is a .zip file. So it is a compressed collection of files that you can usually open by double clicking on it. The files contained in it can be simply "drag n dropped" to their respective locations as stated in the file "Installation Instructions for the Rainbow Bible", contained in the .zip file.

So do you understand any of this, or have you not encountered .zip files before?

When i download "Rainbow Bible," I noticed it was a zip file. I did the following:

1. I right click on the zip folder, then "extract all."  I was then asked where do I  want to place "rainbow bible" and I gave this location:

   C:\Program File (86)\e-sword\

There were one or two instances when I just click on the address  C:\Program File...  when it appeared as one of the locations I could choose from.

2. I click the "Extract" button below and a window pops up and a green bar that moves from left to right - indicating the file is being extracted to its location.

3. Then I opened e-sword, and it was not there,

Modules must be properly installed to function with E-Sword correctly

Module installer is helpful, but in this case it won't install the .ovlx file will it?

If they could learn how to open a zip file to view the contents they would see it contains a file "Installation Instructions for the Rainbow Bible.txt"

I think "Ask a friend" would be a good way forward to learn a useful skill.....

Also the markup.ovlx file will need to be renamed to prevent the default markup.ovlx file being overwritten.

The KJV-Rainbow Bible with color changes made by Shawn Fifield, was provided with instructions. The instructions were originally made for e-Sword running on Windows XP or Running on Windows 7.

If you encounter a problem, and are running e-Sword for the PC on a more recent version of Microsoft Windows, or Windows (64-bit), see the updated instructions on the Bible Support Forum at http://www.biblesupport.com/topic/6500-bibles-kjv-rainbow/
