I use both a PC and a Mac, so no harm here. Regardless... Mac, or no Mac, it's still a great module!! Thanks, Eliran!

Gary, thanks for your kind words. Eliran

So...is there a simple way in Windows to view the extended line? Some of the verses in the Epistles are quite lengthy and the words I need sometimes happen to be at the end of the verse. I don't mind them not showing up on the main screen, but do need some simple way to find my way to the end. If the line-break feature is too fussy for programming, could a zoom-out button work?

Thanks for making e-Sword available to us! Blessings,

Rose-Marie

Simple?  I'd like to know if there is.  But here's my non-simple way of getting around it.  I copy and pasted it into MS Word and then clicked on the + to select the whole table, then had it auto fit into the window.  From there, I could see everything, even though words were split and wrapped around to the next line.  Then I could add additional table rows and copy and paste things into them instead (and delete the unnecessary columns).  So not simple, but it at least makes it usable.  It's a very cool resource for someone like me who needs some serious help with my Greek (that I studied 35 years ago!), but not being able to scroll was a bit frustrating.  At least this way I can see it all--eventually.

A simple remedy that may add SOME additional words: zoom out.

Hold the computer control button down and scroll down on your mouse.

More of the words will come into view. There seems to be a limit though.

The reply from Chalkbrd will still have to be used for even longer verses.

I've been trying new things since I posted this. This is the easiest way I found:

Open Wordpad- (easier than ms word for this purpose, it is found under Windows Accessories)

Go into View Mode and set word wrap at: wrap to window

Select the verse in e-sword.

Copy verse: use Ctr C,  or right click- copy,  or right click- copy verse

Paste into Wordpad: use Ctr V,  or right click- paste,  or click the paste icon on the home page

All the boxes are neatly formatted for easy reading.

I'm using e-Sword 13 for Windows, and at some point in history prior to this post, things have changed since the earlier posts on this topic.  The Greek NT INT+ module now has a table for each verse, and those verse tables are capable of wrapping.  Each longer verse table will wrap every 11 or 12 words or so (possibly depending on your default font/font size).  For e-Sword 13 for Windows in the Greek NT INT+ module, if the last row of the wrapped verse table doesn't have enough words to complete the row, then empty cells complete the last row so it is the same width as the row(s) above it.

How is this verse table wrapping triggered for e-Sword for Windows?

I am working on a e-Sword for Windows Hebrew Bible multi-layer interlinear module based on Eliran Wong's work.

Screenshot 2023-05-07 112736.jpg

The module is very similar in format to the Greek NT INT+ module.  The module has many longer verse tables, and the verse tables are definitely NOT automatically wrapping.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

First question is which version of the BHSE+++ module do you have installed is the Windows version with a bblx module extension or is it the Apple/Mac version with the bbli file extension

The BHSE+++ module was created before e-Sword for Windows was updated to be able to read Apple/Mac format modules.  The module creator used tables to present the module text in the best away available for the Windows version of e-Sword.

Since the BHSE+++ and other module were first uploaded there has been some new interliner modules were uploaded that do not have tables. One of Eliran Wong's modules has been updated.

Here are links to these newer modules and the one Eliran Wong module that has been, also all of his modules are available in the Apple/Mac format which can now be used with e-Sword for Windows:

Berean Study Bible / Reverse Interlinear and morphology dictionary

Scripture4all & Beran Study Bible Combined

The Holy Bible, Berean Study Bible (Hebrew OT & Greek NT Interlinear with RAC, TVM, Strong's an Notes) 1.13

Open Greek New Testament Project (English & Spanish interlinear; morphology; Strong's numbers; TVM Strong's numberslexicons, etc.)

Greek-English Bible (biblehub.com; Berean Interlinear; Strong's no.; morphology; transilteration ; TVM: Strong)

I am using the BHSE+++.bbli module.  Eliran Wong did not provide a BHSE+++.bblx module for downloading at the following URL, presumably because Eliran did not have such a thing that worked.

http://www.biblesupp...etcbc-4b-hebre/

The BHSE+++.bbli module, and all similar multi-layer interlinear modules located at the URL's that you provided do NOT display properly on my e-Sword 13 for Windows.  All of these multi-layer interlinear modules display all information in one single column on the left hand side of my e-Sword Bible window.  None of these multi-layer interlinear modules use tables for the words of the verses.

Many of the modules at the URL's that you provided are not multi-layer interlinear modules.  They are single-layer interlinear modules, and they display properly on my e-Sword 13 for Windows. Those single-layer interlinear modules that display properly on my e-Sword for Windows include:

BSBRevInt.bbli

SPT4All08BSBHebGrkINT.bbli

SPT4All08HebGrkINT.bbli

SPT4All17BSBHebGrkINT.bbli

SPT4All17HebGrkINT.bbli

BSBHebGrkINT.bbli

BSBHebGrkINT+.bbli

OGNT.bbli

OGNT+.bbli

OGNT-English.bbli (This appears to use single vertical column entire verse table cells, instead of horizontal verse tables with a cell for each word)

OGNTii+.bbli

OGNTiiTVM+.bbli

BIB.bbli

BIBTVM++.bbli

BIB++.bbli

BIB+.bbli

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

If any of the following multi-layer interlinear modules are displaying properly on yours or anyone else's e-Sword for Windows, then I would like to know what the trick is, since they don't display properly on my e-Sword for Windows:

BHSE+++.bbli

BHSEk+++.bbli

SPT4All08BSBHebGrkINT+.bbli

SPT4All17BSBHebGrkINT+.bbli

BSBHebGrkINT++.bbli

OGNTi+.bbli

OGNTiTVM+.bbli

BIBi.bbli

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I don't want to lose sight of the original question:

How is verse table wrapping, such as is working in the Greek NT INT+ module, implemented for e-Sword for Windows?

First let me apologize for any confusion caused by my prior response on this subjet I forgot that the Greek NT INT+ module is an official e-Sword resource, that is downloadable through e-Sword itself.

Rick Meyers the developer of e-Sword maintains all of the offical e-Sword resources and keeps them up to date. Starting with the release of e-Sword version 11 for Windows, the ability to use Apple/Mac or HTML modules. Due to this change Rick Meyers updated all of the official modules so they will work with all versions of e-Sword including the more recent Android version.

All of the official e-Sword modules are encrypted and thus can not be edited in e-Sword Tooltip so it is not possible to see exactly what Rick did with the Greek NT INT+ module. However having built a number of bible modules I can make an educated guess as to what Rick might have done to with the Greek NT INT+ module.

In creating e-Sword modules there are two ways to end a line of text either with a hard break by pressing enter that creates a new paragraph right below the line. The other way to end a line is with a soft break is created by pressing Shift+ Enter, this creates a break without starting a new paragraph. My guess is that in updating the Greek NT INT+ module Rick created soft breaks to avoid having the tables in long continious lines that required scrolling.

If I remember correctly I tried to help Eliran Wong when we was creating his modules but did not like the results of his Windows modules. So he adandoned his work here and created his own bible app called Marvel Bible.

Interestingly his abandoned modules can be be fixed to work on all versions of e-Sword with some judicious editing

I hope this information helps.

Just one thing, make certain that your Hebrew Bible is set to read Right to Left. As you have it at the moment, as per your screenshots, it reads left to right, which is wrong.

As to wrapping text, it can't be done. See my post below as to the reason.

Hi Brian,
The reason that one will not see a horizontal scroll bar in the Bible Window, is because one hasn't been put in there at the design time of e-Sword.

If you look at the Properties window in Visual Studio (see attached Screenshot as an example) you will notice that in order for scroll bars have to be set to appear when required, or forced to show at all times.

Now, I know that Rick Meyers uses Visual Studio, because Visual Basic is one of the programming languages (which he wrote e-Sword in) in the IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and it has the same type of properties for the Controls as all of the programming languages in this program. And bearing that in mind, Rick just didn't set the scroll bar properties to show a horizontal one.

Oh yeah, I nearly forgot ... as far as I am aware, e-Sword never had a horizontal scroll bar in the Bible Window.

I hope this information is helpful to you.

Blessings,

The thing is columns in tables can't be wrapped.

Blessings,

Tj, no need to apologize.  You were on the right track.  At the end of my journey of discovery there were two seemingly unimportant changes that needed to be made:

1.  Change all of the <br> tags to <br /> tags.

2.  Get rid of the one problematic space between all of the </td> tags and the <td nowrap style=blah> tags that immediately followed.  It must be this:  ><  not this: > <

Other things that needed to be changed earlier included:

a.  Adding <table> and </table> tags

b. Adding <tr style=blah> and </tr> tags

c. Swapping out all of the <div style=blah> tags for <td nowrap style=blah> tags.

d. For much improved alignment, I changed my Default Font in e-Sword for Windows from Segoe UI 12 to Segoe UI 11, and changed my Hebrew Font to TITUS Cyberbit Basic

Of all of Eliran's modules, these multi-layer interlinear modules require the most editing to fix for e-Sword for Windows.
