I recently had to install a new harddrive on my computer, and with it a clean install of Windows.

After downloading e-sword 11.1 and installing it, it will not run on my computer for some reason   I click the icon to run it, and nothing happens.

I happened to still have the install program for version 10, so I installed it and it runs just fine.   However, when I went to go download some commentaries and study notes that I enjoy using, that are public domain, I found that almost all of them are in red and will not download.  But they do say that an update is available.  But, clicking on that, just takes me to a link do download version 11.

Am I out of luck here, or is there something I can do?

The modules for download from within E-Sword are for version 11.

You might try downloading a new copy of the E-Sword 11 installer as sounds like the copy you used might have been corrupt and not completed the installation properly

Tried the download new installer thing.   No difference.   Looks like I'm out of luck and have to stay with version 10.   Which means no downloading any more addons.  But, I did find them in an install on another computer and just copied the files over so I found a work around.

Some of your problems might be Windows. Get the new version of e-Sword and install it as the Administrator. Right-click the install file and click run as administrator. You may also want to run e-Sword as the Administrator. Right click the startup icon, click properties, and you should be able to find run as administrator. This is known as a permissions problem and new versions of Windows are famous for it. I hope this helps.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I am having the same problem as the original poster except that the download links are all in blue which I think means that I should be able to download them. But when I select them and click on download, nothing happens. I have tried everything already suggested here, reinstalling, running as admin, etc., but still no go. Any other ideas?

Do you use a firewall that block the connections of programs? ZoneAlarm?

No, I am not using any firewall except for Windows Defender. And I gave permission for the e-Sword to be able to access the internet.

All of the modules that can be downloaded from within e-Sword are for e-Sword version 11 they are not downloadable in earlier versions of e-Sword. When downloading a module you first select the module then click download and then click start from the download menu

Yes, that is what I am doing. I am wondering if it could be because of where I am in the world. We are currently in Ivory Coast and there have been other websites that we cannot even access here that we can in the US. I have downloaded and installed the latest version, even uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but it makes no difference. I found that I can get some of the Bibles translations I want from Olive Tree Bible Study program but I do not like it as well as e-Sword. Thanks for your replies!
