Hi Andrew,

If you switched from PC to OS X, you've probably noticed some dramatic changes between the two versions. I tried making the change myself, attempting to go the full e-Sword X route, and although there are some nice features on the OS X version of e-Sword, the unfortunate part, is that the Mac version didn't compare with what I was accustomed to doing on the PC. As you've also found, there's a gaping hole in having the same modules available, and it will probably take several years to catch up.

Long story short... although they both accomplish some of the same tasks, the Mac version and the PC version of e-Sword are two different animals. I've learned to adapt by using either Boot Camp, or WinOnX Pro. Using either of these can also have drawbacks, but it allows one to much more easily cross the border into Mac territory, while keeping the Word of God within our favorite program, e-Sword.

May God bless...

Yes, I have been reduced to googling for bible modules + .bbli etc. Is there a better way? Andrew

Yes there is! Well in a real sense there is, and is similar to what Gary posted.

Another tool one can use, of which seems to be the best of the lot, is Crossover by codeweavers. Going by what others have said about it (as I haven't used it) it does a better job than most, and it appears that this tool has shown the least of the problems.

Now, just that you know where I am coming from. No software is perfect (only the ones I create . Yeah right, he says. Like I believe in the Easter Bunny), however, there are those that are better than others, and have less issues or problems. Some are really straight forward, whilst other are extremely complicated to use and to learn. That said, I don't think that you should have too much difficulty in using Crossover.

Hope this helps you. Let us know how things have worked out for you.

Blessings,

Is there a way to convert using only a mac? The reason I purchased E-Sword X is because I have switched away from a pc not just added a mac to my arsenal. I do not have a windows pc available.

yes, go back to the basic.  You may simply need a text editor.  I did many that with that.  but with that, you have to pay a price to learn basic formattings of e-Sword modules.
