Hi

I recently purchased & installed e-Sword X on my MAC from the Apple store, and wanted to know if there are any plans to release a new module installer & reference material specifically for this e-Sword MAC version.

Many thanks in advance

John

The module installer part won't be necessary because you can double click a module in the Mac file manager (OS X Finder) and e-Sword X will install it. You can also choose Import from inside e-Sword X to install a module.

Yes, eventually all modules here will have an "Apple" download option. A module, with the name (Apple) in it, will be added to each file listing. In the mean time, you can convert your own modules for use with e-Sword X using the official e-Sword PC to Apple conversion utility: http://www.e-sword.net/extras.html

Hi Josh

Many thanks for the reply.

I tried to follow the process you mentioned (so I thought),  i.e.. downloaded the 'Step sampler collection (100 titles)' , then tried both .. File >> Resource >> Import, as well as  File >> User Files >> Import .. but nothing happened in both cases, apart from a screen flicker like a refresh.

(I noticed that the downloaded file had an .exe extension, which I assumed will get converted to MAC format & then installed)

I then recycled e-Sword X & checked the list of Resources but the above was not there.

Am I missing something here ?

Blessings

John

The Step Sampler provided by e-Sword.net is in Step format, which is an antiquated form of an e-book called Step. This is not e-Sword's format. It belonged to a previous Bible software company and support was added to e-Sword because so many people, at that time, had Step books. I don't know if e-Sword for the Mac will read these. My guess is no. For a definitive answer on that, you would need to contact Rick Meyers at e-sword.net.

I was talking about the installation of actual e-Sword resources.

Hi There,

I am a new comer ( to be exact just now).

I tuned in to the post to find out if there is an e-Sword Bible available for Mac OX.

I enjoy my e-sword using Windows in my other laptop.

But since i shifted to Mac (for a good reason), I've been wanting to have an e-Sword Bible download.

As of today I am still searching.

I would appreciate if it is available now.

Thank you

Always in the service of the King of kings,

Dado

Any Bible that is based on iOS (e-Sword HD or e-Sword LT) is compatible with Mac OSX

Hi, I also purchased e-swordX on my macbook and cannot open any of the modules. I even tried using e-sword the Crossover way (downloaded Crossover) and using the module installer but nothing is working. I have downloaded the Apple converter. what do i do now. please make the apple download option available immediately for modules.

I have e-Sword x on mac running el Capitan

I want to install Living Oracles New Testament

The module downloaded as an exe file

How do I install - I do not have wine or crossover installed

Double clicking and importing does not work

Did I download the wrong module?

Actually you wont be able to at all! The reason for this is that the resource will have a bblx extension, and so it wouldn't be compatible for e-Sword X. All e-Sword X resource extensions end with an i, as where resources for e-Sword for Windows, their extensions ends with an x. Please note the differences:

  • e-Sword for Windows Bible file extension: bblx
  • e-Sword for Mac and iOS Bible file extension: bbli

Neither of these files are compatible to the other e-Sword platform. So be careful of what you download.

Blessings,
