Win 8.0 users not able to open eSword

Hi, I am the administrator and can run eSword without problems on my laptop. Another user, part of the admin group, finds that th esplash screen opens and then hangs till the no response from eSword message appears. I have also made this user the owner but nothing seems to help. On my PC, Win 7, I have for many years not had a single problem with the same users. Please could you assist or direct me to another source? Many thanks.
