I wish that when you are in the download area on the site, and looking at the Bibles download or commentaries etc ,that it would show which ones you have already downloaded and which ones you havent, because how are you to remember? I know you can click that specificly, but it would be easier if it was next to each individual Bible or Commentary etc. like the eswor site has it.

To  do that there would have to be a way for the site to access your computer to check to see what modules you had installed, and what version they were.

If you changed the file from a topx to refx, it would no longer show as installed, likewise if you changed the name of the file.  (At least It doesn't on the e-Sword downloader.)  Some people prefer their reference books as ref files, others are happy to leave the topx as topic files.

The e-Sword downloader has only a few modules to keep track of, and was purposely built to do so.  This site is hosted by a different server, with different software, it might not be possible to modify the current software to do so (and the hosting server might not allow it).

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

Oh, that makes sense :) Thank you for explaining that to me :)

I am enjoying doing my Bible studies in esword now.For years I have been doing them in a journal, but writing all the verse by hand, is getting quite painful with my health :) Copying and pasting now is wonderful :)

How could I go about saving my studies and things , on a disc or something, so that if my computer crashed, I wouldnt lose my notes and studies on my esword program?

I periodically copy my e-Sword directory to DVD, that ensures that all of my Bible, Commentary, Dictionary, Refx and map modules are safe in case of a disc crash.

Your Journal and study note files are generally in Documents > e-sword directory, they can be copied to disc, flash drive, or even a "cloud" account like Drop box.

Since most of what I write is commentary for use in my adult Sunday School class, my notes tend to be in the form of MS Word documents.  :)   That makes saving and storage and recovery simple (though I do back those up periodically as well, they still fit on a Cd rather than a DVD.

Hi,

Once you log in go to the downloads menu. The very bottom choice may well give you what you seek.

Live and learn, I never used that before....though wading through 11 pages of modules downloaded to see if I already have the one I am thinking about getting would be a tad tedious.

At least now when I am referring someone to a module, I can check that list to get the URL to the download page.
