Hi,

I am new to the site and have looked around a bit. I am wondering if there is a bible version (Say King James, Darby, ISV, NIV) that is available without the chapter and verse markings. I find the verse and chapters to be distracting and want to read the various books of the bible like they were originally written. (Except in English of course)

Maybe there is a module available or in progress for something of this sort?

Thanks for any input on this.

Dan.

This is not a module issue. It's an e-Sword issue. e-Sword doesn't support this functionality.

There is a work around:

If you highlight a section of scripture, then right click you get a window that allows you to select a range of scripture spanning chapters. If you select the whole book, and use formatting option 7 you will be able to read the verses you have selected with the chapter and verse listed at the end of the selection.  This doesn't work well with large selections (I couldn't get it to do the entire book of Isaiah for example.) so you might have to do sections.

Alternately you can work it this way:

Install an e-sword utility called Hotkey http://www.biblesupp...e-sword-hotkey/

And the macros written for Microsoft Word (doesn’t matter if you use word as hotkey will use them directly, and hot key lets you paste scripture anywhere you can paste text)

http://www.e-sword.net/extras.html

Fire up hotkey, selct macro, select copy/style and format style 7.  The rest of the instructions are the same, This method will work for quite large selections (could select and copy/paste the whole book of Isaiah)

There will be no paragraph breaks, but then as I understand it there weren't any paragraph divisions in the original manuscripts.

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
