Hello friends,

I downloaded e-sword to the new computer this morning and tried installing it. I get an error message that says:

"This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way."

What does this mean? How do I fix it?

Sounds like it could be a corrupted download, try installing it again from a fresh download.
Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

What it is saying is that the Visual C++ runtime tried to perform a task and failed. Try running it as an administrator or in WindowsXP compatibility mode. If that does not work, please reply with operating system you are running and exactly at which point the installation fails at.
