Hi Brent
I made the changes you suggested but still the links are not clickable in e-sword i.e when you hover over the link the tip saying "CTRL + click to follow link" does not show and clicking gets no response.
If I read the dctx file, edit it and try to save it I get an error message, then have to change "abbrev" to "abbreviation". I don't think this would be the cause of my problem. Should I edit in this way or edit the rtf file and then save as a dictionary module. By the way the direction of the slashes in the file path change eg if I enter them as \ they change to /.
If it works for you and not me obviously something else is going on. What version Tool-Tip and e-sword are you using?
Also
1. If the link to a file on my hard disk is "external" (same as for a web address), what is an internal link.
2. What is the purpose of the arrow for an internal link?
3. Would it be possible to have a browse feature for a file on the hard disk?
I do appreciate your help a lot. Thank you.
Kind regards
Bill

did you try the sample file I posted above? Did it work?If I read the dctx file, edit it and try to save it I get an error message, then have to change "abbrev" to "abbreviation". I always use the most current version.Also1. If the link to a file on my hard disk is "external" (same as for a web address), what is an internal link.
Internal links are links to bookmarks. Bookmarks and Internal links must be for the currently displayed document. They are probably only useful in Topic Modules.2. What is the purpose of the arrow for an internal link?3. Would it be possible to have a browse feature for a file on the hard disk?
Yeah - but understand that the files may reside in different places on the hard drive if you plan to share your modules.I do appreciate your help a lot. Thank you.Kind regards
