I have purchased the esv and nasb modules for e-sword in the bblx format. Is it possible to convert these modules to work in Mysword for my own personal use or do I need to re-purchase them? And if so, where?

Hi pgrimm,

MySword is not pursuing premium translations at this time. There is no place to buy them. Their focus is on software development and distribution of free resources with the limited resources they have.

It is violation of the e sword license to convert e sword premium modules to another software.

Personally I have grown dissalusioned with the comercialization of the Word of God and try to use free translations like LHB, EMTV, LOGOS, ISV, WPNT, KJV, and NHEB.

Blessings,
Peter

Premium e-Sword resources are encrypted. Whilst COTS hardware is available to break that encryption within two or so years, the software would need to be custom written.

There's a program available now that decrypts e-Sword, theWord, Logos Bibles, etc. And I have to delete a link to it every week or so when someone posts it. No one posts information on how to pick locks on homes or disable car alarms. Why post the same that enables the theft of commercial material? Beats me...

e-Sword 9.x resources?

I'm aware of the one that does e-Sword 8.x, but I didn't realize it did e-Sword 9.x.

I agree, the word of God should not be commercialized. But I think that for the most part, this is Not Rick's doing, but rather big publishing houses, i.e. Nelson;s is one i can think of right off. Personally all this copyright stuff to me is bogus, as the real copyright holder for the Bible is God Himself!

Ouch.

Guess that means that new resources will utilize a different encyrption scheme.
And if the abbreviation doesn't match that expected by the encryption key, e-Sword won't display the resource.

Maybe, doubtful, not sure what the point would be. The guy writing the software can obviously crack just about anything. I reached out to him. He showed me he could decrypt Logos resources, but so far, he only allows for decryption of their Bibles in his software. He did the same for theWord resources.

pfpeller,

I am looking for a Bible translation that does not have a TR or Majority Text bias, but also takes into account the NA27 in its textual criticism. I guess I will have to stick to an alternative to Mysword.

Thanks for your advice
