Hi,
Tried to upload several different personal photos from my Dell W7 prof. laptop to my profile, but each one failed! Any ideas why, please?

Hello,

If it was a jpg, try a png. If it was a png, try a jpg. :)

And keep the file size under 250k or so.

Still no success, Josh. Changed to PNG & reduced file to 199 kB. More suggestions, please?

Brian where and what are you uploading the pics for

if its the avatar which is seen with your post example josh's avatar is a picture of him mine is a scribe the avatar can be uploaded from your hard drive

and what Josh explained should have worked

so I assume that your uploading a picture to your profile page like whats on josh's page I'm almost positive you have to use a URL for that Josh can confirm or correct me on this

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Here is the easiest way to change your profile picture.
Take any picture that you want, use an image editing program and make it 150 pixels by 150 pixels.
Save it as a JPG & a PNG.
Upload the JPG one to make sure it works.
If not, then upload the PNG file.

This is what I have done to get my profile picture changed.

Hi DSaw,
Yes, it was intended to be for my profile/posts. I was uploading from my pictures file on my HDD, which has always worked previously, but doesn't seem to like the source or process this time? I used the normal browse feature, as one is given a choice on the web page, as you no doubt know? So, if I use the (unfamiliar) avatar process how do I find the picture (or place it online to be found) please? I have MS Office Pro.

If you can give me a link to the file, I can upload it from my end.

Hi Brian,
Although Josh seems to have solved the problem for you, the actual problem you're having with uploading hasn't been resolved, and I'm of the mind that this is important so that any future uploads you may make, you don't strike those difficulties again.

So, here are a couple of things that might help you to resolve this problem. Both are somewhat dependent on what brand of web browser you are using, i.e., Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, or some other.

First is to check if you have the latest version of Adobe Flash. The default uploader used on this site requires Adobe Flash. This program usually works with all types of web browsers, and so its important to ensure you are up-to-date on the latest version of that program.

Secondly, check if your web browser has been updated. Sometimes your web browser has been automatically updated, but your Adobe Flash is lagging behind and hasn't been updated. If that is the case, again, you will need to update your Adobe Flash.

Now, if neither of these is your problem, then the issue may be at Josh's end, and here he may have to look into it. However, I don't think that really is the case, and all it could really be is just you may having to update your Adobe Flash.

I hope this really helps you.

Blessings,
