Hi all,

I am somewhat overwhelmed with all the e-sword versions here. I was wondering if any of you know a good Sacred Name (Hebrew) version which uses the name Yahweh (or YHVH or YHWH) instead of LORD and Jeshua instead of Jesus.

Thanks in advance.

Hi rama,

there is the WORD OF YAHWEH Bible which is a heavily corrected KJV translation, which uses the Hebrew Masorete Text for the OT and the Textus receptus, while corrected in many place to conform to the Aramaic, for the NT.

There is the HEBRAIC ROOTS BIBLE which is a translation of the Hebrew Masorete OT and the Westernn Aramaic NT.

And there is THE SCRIPTURES 1998+ Version which uses the Paleo Hebrew Script for the Sacred Name of our Heavenly Father and His only begotten Son' Name. It uses the Hebrew Masorete Text for the OT and Greek Texts for the NT.

All of the 3 translations mentioned above do not profane the Heavenly Father' Name. All 3 Versions can be found in the Bible Download section of this site. If they are not on the first page keep going through the pages and you will come upon them. The WOY is on the second page, the HRB is on the 3rd page and TS1998+ can be found on the 9th page as of today. Keep in mind that the pages these resources are on will change in time to higher numbered pages.

As for the OJB they use Adonai and/or Hashem in place of the Sacred Name, which is propfaning It.

Not to open a large can of worms here, but according to 100% of the NT manuscripts, when quoting from the OT, neither Jesus nor His inspired apostles used YHWH. Every one of them used KURIOS (Lord). So, if replacing YHWH with ADONAI (Hebrew for Lord) is profaning it, then Jesus profaned the name of God.

Since Jesus called YHWH "Lord" (see Matthew 4) when quoting a passage that used YHWH, then why do you insist that when someone does the same thing today, they are profaning the name of God?

While this sort of thing is floating around, I thought it would be great to clear up a couple of transliterated pronunciation issues.

Ok when a Hebrew word is transliterated from Hebrew to Roman text, its important that some of the roman letters used are pronounced that way.

Where you see a "W" is actually pronounced as a "V"
Where you see a "V" in some instances can be either pronounced as either a "V" or a "B" but mostly pronounced as a "B"
Where you see a "B" that is what it is.

Where you see a "ch" that is not pronounced like in the word "cheese" but sort of like a "kh." Like you need to clear your throat kind of a sound, and then to have a spit.

The transliterated form of David is "Dawid." The "a" is not pronounced as "ai" or "ay" sounding, but rather as a sort of a long kind of an "a" as in "are," and the "i" as in sort of like a "ee" kind of a sound.

Now, the reason why I know this geeky kind of stuff is that I ma having a go at learning to speak Hebrew, and I've got an incredible Messianic Jew (and he's a true blue, died in the wool, chunder down under, fair dinkum Jew) having a go at teaching me. And he's been telling me all about these weird pronunciation kind of things.

Blessings,
Stephen (Php 1:21).

P.S. BTW, I can recite the Sh'ma and the Aaronic Blessing. And currently I having a go at Psa 23.

That is 100% of the Greek Manuscripts.

Different Biblical languages use different terms. For example, the Chinese and Japanese manuscripts from the first millennium used 上帝 and 真主 : Most High God, and True Lord, respectively.

Cobb78,
I think you might be suprised if you were to check the Aramaic Text of the NT, and I do not mean Norton', Etheridge', Murdock', Lamsa', or Bauscher' so-called English translations thereof, as all 5 are erroneous when it comes to the Aramaic Text !!!

Oh, and while you brought up the subject of W W J[i.e.-Y] D, (ANSEWR): Really, He would use His Name, not some erroneous form thereof. Same with His Father' Name. REALLY !!!
Even the oldest fragments of the Greek NT used PLACE HOLDERS for The Anointed One' Name, not the erroneous Greek translation/form that is found in the Greek texts since Constantine started his church/circus, whereby having all the text become antinomian, as well as remove as much Hebraicness form them - to help support his religion.
