E-sword modules for Android tablets

Any module that is formatted for use with the Apple/Mac versions of e-Sword will work with e-Sword for Android

Just to add to that: Unlike e-Sword HT and e-Sword LT, e-Sword Android will run on both Android Phones and Tablets, as where e-Sword LT will not on run on iPad, and e-Sword HT will not run on iPhones.

So what does this mean? Irrespective of the brand and make of the Android device, whether Tablet or Phone, it doesn't matter: what is downloaded on the phone will run on the tablet, and what is installed on the tablet will run on the phone. In other words (and you can't make this up because its true), when it comes to Android software, its developed to run on all devices. The only thing that e-Sword Android won't run on are devices prior to the Nougat version. Anything from and after that version to the present and beyond, you're fine.

Trust this gives you a better understanding regarding Android.

Blessings,

I have e-Sword for my Android phone. On BibleSupport.com I downloaded a commentary in the i format. Now, that file is located in the download folder on my phone. How do I get e-sword to find or recognize it? Thanks so much for your help (in advance.)

Van

Updated... I just found that if I click on BBL on the bottom menu; then click the hamburger menu at top left; then scroll to the bottom and see the General section and click on Import; then give permission to import files; then click my file manager; then click my downloads icon; than click the file I just downloaded from BibleSupport.com it seems to have worked. I found my new "commentary" in the REF tab at the bottom, and not under CMT tab, like I expected.
Is that the proper procedure to answer my question above? Thanks!

You need to import the module into e-Sword in order for it to be useable

1. Open e-Sword for Android and look the for three line menu icon at the top of the e-Sword screen and tap it. This will open the e-Sword menu.
2. Scroll down the menu until you see the Import option on the menu and tap it. This will activate e-Sword's import function and will open your android download folder
3. Tap the module to import it into e-Sword

Blessings,

Blessings,

When having done this post, I forgot an important detail. My bad, and sorry for that.

The Missing Important Detail:

Once you have bought and paid for e-Sword Android for 1 (one) device, e.g., a Samsung Galaxy Fold smart phone; then that's it! You, then don't have to pay for it again if you were to install it on another Android device, i.e., an Android Galaxy Tablet. As where with Apple devices that is not the case. With Apple iOS devices, you have to pay for e-Sword LT for your iPhone, and if you also have an iPad, you have to pay for e-Sword HT. And then if you have an Apple PC/Laptop, you have to pay for e-Sword X.

So, here is what all of this looks like:

  • Windows PC/Laptop e-Sword is free                                   MacOS PC/Laptop you pay
  • Android devices only 1 payment on initial device                e-Sword LT for iPhone you pay
  • Other Android devices is free                                             e-Sword HT for iPad you pay.

Now, I have to feel sorry for Apple users who have to pay for e-Sword for each new device.

With that said, I don't know if you have to pay for e-Sword LT, HT, or X again if having to replace a device. If you do, then... (I'll leave the rest unsaid and to your imagination).

Blessings,

I'm trying to find a much better tablet than the Android YQ10 which I just returned to Amazon.  Do you just have your Ipad?  I know those are exceptional but I can't afford to pay for one ;)  I can afford the androids, probably end up with a Samsung I'm thinking.  I've been on Androids, PCs, for a lifetime, I'm almost 71 and doubt I could handle anything but Android.  I hope I feel "awesome" about e-sword as it is frustrating in a way because first I had to buy an NKJV, second I can't get the Strong's #s on anything but the KJV+ and I'm just hoping e-sword will add the Recovery Bible Version (Watchman Nee & Witness Lee) as I find it so amazing, and I believe accurate, although I am very new to really digging deeper into the bible.
