Transfering Modules from e-Sword for Windows and Apple/MAC devices to e-Sword for Android

Back in June I created a posted with detailed step by step instructions for using e-Sword for Android's Import function. The steps I presented showed how import modules from third party sites such as Bible Support into e-Sword for Android.

In hindsight however I was not clear enough about how to import modules that users have already installed in other versions of e-Sword into the Android version. The Android version of e-Sword uses the same module format as the Apple/MAC versions  and e-Sword for Windows 11,12 and 13. 

As a reminder the Apple/MAC versions  and e-Sword for Windows 11,12 and 13 use html formatted modules which have a module file extension that ends with the letter "i".

I've just recently downloaded a raw bbli file and imported it into my e-Sword for droid (I hate to say this) without going through the procedures you've listed above. So here is what I did:

• Downloaded the file onto a flash drive using my PC
• Banged in the pen drive onto my phone and and moved it into the Documents folder using the My Files app (that's a Samsung Galaxy phone app)
• Then I opened e-Sword, and selected Import in from the menu (which open the My Files app) and went to the folder where the resource was, and tapped on the file, and "hey presto" it was on my phone.

Now admittedly, this happened a couple of days before you posted this up, so I'm not going to say what you posted as being unnecessary, simply because other brands of droid phones may work differently.

On a side note: I'm drooling about the idea of getting me a Samsung Galaxy Fold. If anyone got one, pretty please let me know by dropping me a line, and give me your thoughts on it.

Now, to everyone else:

I recently made a purchase of a Commentary from e-StudySource.com, and downloaded it onto my PC, and the extension came out as a cmtx. I then downloaded, and not paying a cent for it, onto my phone, and that came with a cmti extension.

So, realizing what just happened, I went "Yippee," for all the reasons you can guess. So (and that is a very big "Sooooo"), I then downloaded download most of the resources I previously purchased  for my PC version of e-Sword on my phone.

In conclusion, this means that whatever resources you initially bought for your PC edition of e-Sword, you can download and install on your droid device. I think/guess the same may apply to your iOS and Mac devices. All you need to know is the product key, and that's not difficult to obtain from BibleSupport.

All you need to install your e-Sword X module at no additional cost is to enter your Email address and "Product Key" you received when you purchased the module for use with e-Sword. If you do not have that information, just click on the "Recover Product Key" button on the dialog that prompts for this information.

HOW DO I INSTALL THE IPAD COPY OF THE E-SWORD PREMIUM MODULE I PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED?

All you need to install your e-Sword HD module at no additional cost is to enter your Email address and "Product Key" you received when you purchased the module for use with e-Sword. If you do not have that information, just tap on the "Recover Product Key" button on the popover that prompts for this information.

Rick Meyers, the developer of e-Sword, clearly says that the approved source of your Product Key is from eStudySource [ https://www.estudysource.com/ ] not from BibleSupport.com [ http://www.biblesupport.com/ ] as was totally incorrectly claimed by APsit190 in a previous entry in this discussion, in his remarks dated 13 September 2022.

Well, I just intuitively and syllogistically knew that, of which is like the skin on your nose. When you buy a resource from eStudySource, the product key doesn't come from anywhere else. I mean, seriously, I don't think that anyone is so dumb to think that it comes from somewhere else.

So, when it comes to Droid devices, there are oodles of them running around. Some are dirt cheep, and others are a tad more pricey. But which of these are the best? Well everyone has their favorite brand of phone, just in the same way I have my favorite brand.

So which of them is actually the best? In my judgement I reckon the Samsung Galaxy range of phones and tablets are the best. From a technological perspective of Smart devices, they actually are the leaders. Perhaps what really pushed them to the front is the Galaxy Z phone:

• The Galaxy Flip, and
• The Galaxy Fold.

So, why am I talking about this on this forum. Mainly because the Blog section of this site is, well, not working. But that's not all.

The core reason is because, particularly with my Phone, I can link it to my PC using a tool called "Phone Link," a Microsoft tool that one can link his\her phone to his/her PC. Now, this is really important because it means that one can exchange data between the phone and the PC, such as drag and drop files from the phone onto the PC and vice-versa

But that's not all! The one (I regard as) important thing is that of using e-Sword on your phone with e-Sword on your PC. Now that has to be totally cool.

The video below demonstrates the downloading and installation of resources for the Droid edition of e-Sword on my PC using Phone Link.

As you have seen that my phone is linked to my PC, and of how I used it in that instant. So, when it comes to which brand of Droid phone to have, and you want it to be able to interact with it on your PC, then this is perhaps the phone to have.

I think I might just have to do a video of how to set up a Galaxy Phone and link it to a PC.
