e-sword 13.0.0

I am using Windows 11. Every-time I log in to e-sword I receive the following message:  "e-sword is already running, are sure you want to start another instance?"

How do I correct e-sword so I do not receive this message every time I log-in?

It seems that e-Sword may be running in the background after you shut it down, the easiest way to check is to turn e-Sword off and then open the Windows task manger to see if e-sword is still running. If you see that e-Sword is running in the background in the task manager window, right click it and select "End Task" from the small menu that appears this will shut e-Sword completely off

You don't need to double click to run it.

Microsoft has a known problem that all running apps are not showing up on the taskbar.
To find which apps are running, use Task Manager; force the previous E-Sword, which is running and which you cannot see, to terminate.
Then run e-Sword again.
Microsoft is testing a solution on their development channel at present.
Microsoft suggests that we should remove all the unnecessary icons from the taskbar which we had pinned to the task bar; and which are not currently running. These icons take up limited space in the Task Bar. Then there will be space for the icons of what you are running.
You can easily create shortcuts on your desktop to get to apps quickly, instead of putting the link on the Task bar.

Hi Les,

Usually Windows will ask you if you wish to if you want to start another instance of e-Sword is when you already have it already running (in other words you've already loaded it). Otherwise it won't ask you if e-Sword isn't running, and you just click on the icon and run just one instance of it.

With that said, if you already have e-Sword running and you just log out of Windows, and have not shut down Windows and Powered off your Computer - and then later logged back in, and only if you have click on the e-Sword Icon, will Windows ask you if you want to start another instance of e-Sword. Outside of that, mate, it just won't happen.

Les is double clicking the icon. You don't "log on to e-Sword", as he mentions he thinks he is doing. This suggests not knowing what he is doing. There is a setting in Folder Options "Single-click to open an item, and double click to open an item". This setting makes comments like "double click" the e-Sword icon a little presumptuous and misinformation to a person not familiar with their operating system.

OK, so I might be totally wrong, but I think I have 50 50 of being correct.

I'll go along with that. Good thought.
