A module here claiming to be it but can't be.
it's apparently digitized. (jewishencyclopedia.com)

Curious if someone has the software to turn it into module.

Thanks

I had a look at this website a few years ago, and gave it some thought of creating it as an e-Sword resource. But that's as far I got, "Gave it some thought..."

Would love you to consider it further. It can be a very helpful resource

Well, I think I may have a tad of good news for you. But that just might be dependent on what I found is what you may be looking for. So here goes:

Now, as to whether they include a Tanakh commentary with the encyclopedia or its just an entry on the Tanakh, I don't know. So, I guess that you will have to find out for yourself.

Both these resources required to be installed by running their respective executable (exe) files. So when it comes to downloading them, I suggest you save them to your Download folder, and then run the installer from there.

Trust you find this helpful.

Blessings,

The help looking is greatly appreciated.

I was familiar with the files shared..

They appear both the same.

What they are is confusing..

The actual Jewish encyclopedia is not a commentary but more a dictionary- book

Nothing appears showing up in the verses and it is too small a file to be the encyclopedia

The web page shared is the real deal.
What would be great to download the links and convert. I don't currently have web crawler installed.

Might be able to help somewhat

The Jewish Encylopedia is copyrighted according the website so for the module to be made as an official module the copyright owners permission would be needed.

Having said that, a module could be made from the website but would be much easier would be to have the information in a pdf or word document to work from.

While there appears to be a 1948 Jewish encyclopedia that is copyrighted.

My belief is it's fair to assume this earlier work is public domain.

1. its over 100 years old.

2. https://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/
Says..

The Jewish Encyclopedia, which recently became part of the public domain, contains over 15,000 articles and illustrations.

I'm not seeing any reason to question that.

It's already out there as public domain. We would just be making a module of it.

Pdfs are available but they are images of 12 volumes over 100 year old books. Can supply if needed however im thinking the already ocr material would be easier.

OK, with what gad4 just shared with respect to the PDFs, for anyone who wants to create the Jewish Encyclopedia as an e-Sword resource, click here to download the files.

Blessings,

Stephen (Php 1:21).

I am taking crack it this project by creating an e-Sword Dictionary module using the full entries from the Jewish Encyclopedia website. I Initially tried creating a Topic module but be obvious very quickly that a different approach was needed. So far the Dictionary module approach is working well after some trial and error on my part. However I am not sure if can all of the entries into a single dictionary module or if I will need multiple modules. The reason for my concern is that the Jewish Encyclopedia contains 15000 articles or entries I am not sure if a single dictionary can hold them all
