I have downloaded Bullinger-Companion Expositors Bible Commentary full set and have unzipped it in my e-Sword folder, then in program file (x86)/eSword, then in My Documents/eSword - removing from one place and putting them in the other, but have not been able to see the modules in either the Reference Library or in Commentatries/Editors or Dictionaries.
I am using eSword 10.0.1
Please help and advise about where and how to place these modules so that they are visible and usable.
Thanks - aksd
Hi,
Welcome to BIbleSupport.
1) From e-Sword's main menu, click Options > Resource
2) Locate the "Location" field at the bottom of that screen. This location tells e-Sword where to load files from. Make a note of the folder listed there.
3) Copy the resources you want to use (Expositor's, Bullinger's, etc) to that folder.

Probably some others may have made or may make a similar mistake, therefore a suggestion, would it be possible to have different colored backgrounds for the different programs whose modules are available on this site? This would make it visually easier to ensure that the person is on the correct program/download.
A supplementary query:
I have now installed e-Sword 10.0.2. I wanted to make a new Topic Note in the Editor window, so when I opened the "File" menu after selecting the "Topic Notes" tab in the Editor window, there was only a single sub-menu entry under "File" - Exit!
The same persisted for the Study Notes as well as the Journal Notes tabs. Has the functionality of making Topic and other Notes in the Editor Window been withdrawn in e-Sword 10.x, or is there something wrong with the installation?
The other menu entries and program features seem to be working fine. I know that these notes can also be created through the Tooltip utility, but doing so in the Editor Window was convenient when you are studying something and just want to jot down the thoughts on the same screen.
Please advise.
Thank you - aksd54

Thank you Josh for the guidance. Actually, I too made a mistake, I had downloaded the "MySword" version of the Expositors Commentary set. Now having downloaded the "e-Sword" version and placed it in the Location folder as instructed by you, it works fine.
Probably some others may have made or may make a similar mistake, therefore a suggestion, would it be possible to have different colored backgrounds for the different programs whose modules are available on this site? A few years ago, I was involved in a serious rollover SUV accident because someone didn't stop at a stop sign. The person responsible for the accident said, "If only there'd been a red light there!" The question was posed to her, "If you didn't stop at a stop sign, what makes you think you would have stopped at a red light?" She had no answer because she was too busy to stop no matter what.
Similarly here (and on a much lighter note), people will download the wrong resources because they won't slow down to read (no reflection on you, just the nature of we humans and you are correct, you're not the first person to do this). The software type is listed 4 times on the download page, three times in bold.
But, I like your idea. Let's put a red light instead of a stop sign. Maybe that will reduce support requests for this (I get this a lot but never considered changing the background color). Here's what the other colors might look like: http://www.biblesupp...ysword-version/ Compare that with the normal white background for an e-Sword resource. And then I can come up with a third color for Pocket eSword.

Josh, essentially what you have said is quite correct, about being hurried and too involved to see/read through carefully - that is what had happened with me. I had started to download the correct file at first, then due to some connectivity problems the download got stuck, I paused and restarted it after sometime, and in the end when I unzipped the files, I got the message that the files were corrupted and needed to be downloaded again. By this time my attention was being diverted to some other tasks at hand - not on the Internet or computer, and while trying to manage the others, I started the download again, without being aware/taking care that in my flustered state and hurry I was now downloading for the wrong program, and then I spent a long time shifting the files from one folder to the other to get to see them, and getting more worked up with every failure. Finally when nothing seemed to work, I took recourse to seeking help on the forum.
At some places, especially the Third world, not only the availability of an internet connection but also the effectiveness of the connectivity, the download speeds, having undivided time for using the Internet and availability of electricity etc. are factors for concern, and affect the eventual utilization of resources and the outcome; in other words, sometimes, the reason behind the lack of due care may be other than sheer negligence or unconcern.
Thank you for accepting the suggestion to implement different colored backgrounds for different programs and thank you again for your help. God bless you all and this wonderful ministry and your efforts in making it available.
Thank You - aksd54
