I just  removed e-sword, turned off my firewall and antivirus. Downloaded e-sword 13 again and still get the circling and not opening issue.

Thanks,

Barb

I updated windows and e-sword that I used this morning will not open now. Did Windows include older versions in the issues with version 13? If not why won't my version open?

I have been using e-sword 11.1. I hesitate updating due to the issue here as well as all the folks having issues updating to version 13.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Barb

After having gone to this, and then real all the replies and etc. And seeing that this is where it all started... Try this (watch video below), and see what happens.

If this doesn't work, best suggestion I can make is give Microsoft a call.

Apparently it was the newest windows update that was the problem. I had another computer for my genealogy that had not been updated.

So, rather than uninstalling from the one I use all the time, incase that was not the issue, I installed e-sword 13 on the other computer.

It installed with just the note that the topical notes had an issue, but the bible is on my system again. Now I just need to download the commentaries, books etc that I want to use.

Thanks so much for all the help.

Hello APsit190 (aka Stephen Jovanovic) The latest update can work. I have informed Microsoft at the Windows Update Feedback. I noticed that you had not checked to load, the LEGACY COMPONENTS Option with its sub-feature, DIRECT PLAY, which is on the Windows Features dialogue box, just above MEDIA FEATURES with the sub-feature of WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER.

WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER is now on my PC in two places: in This PC > Windows (C:) > \Program Files\Windows Media Player\ and files and subfolders; and also in This PC > Windows (C:) > \Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\ and files and subfolders.
e-Sword is definitely doing something with the innards of the PC, because the hard-drive runs ferociously for quite a time before e-Sword loads, perhaps this is to sort all the Bibles and other files into the alpha-numerical order in memory. e-Sword does actually load okay, after you give it time to respond. Has Rick Meyers been informed? Windows 11 is not available to be installed yet. That wants to position the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, only.
