Creating Theology of Work Bible Commentary for E-Sword/theWord

Hello. I was looking on the web the other day for "free" Bible Commentaries to possibly line up for E-Sword and theWord. I came across the Theology of Work Project, which actually has a Creative Commons license.

They also have a Bible Commentary (Theology of Work Bible Commentary) that spans from Gen-Rev that outlines all the areas where where work is mentioned and how it relates to our lives in Christ. It can be found here: theologyofwork.org under "Bible Commentary"

We all know that E-Sword and theWord use mostly dated resources, and there is nothing wrong with that, but this one of those rare opportunities to have a commentary created with insight from contemporary Pastors and Scholars, for free. 

This commentary uses multi-verse references, and is lined up more under a topical, rather than expositional scriptual type heading. So I didnt want to start on it not knowing whether it would be better as a book or commentary module. Feel free anybody to attempt to create this, but please let us know if you do. After I get done with my current module, I will start on this one if nobody has bitten. But, I am not the most experienced with module creation, and given the nature of this commentary, it is probably best in the hands of someone with experience. Looks like a wonderful resource regardless, and it would be great to have in both programs. God Bless.

The way the commentary is set up on the website you could easily do both a commentary module and a book/topic module. The multi-verse references are not an issue with e-Sword given how the marks are used within e-Sword modules.

Thank you. It will be a while until I get to this, just really kind of throwing it out there for people who are looking to make a module, to have some fresh material. I understand ToolTip can handle multi-verse references when creating a commentary, but, I dont know how that will play out in converting to theWord. Will test it out if none picks this up, but I am really hoping one of the more experienced module makers will pick it up, because realistically, if it wasnt for the ban against commercial use, this could be a premium module. It goes for $80 in Logos. So, I wont be jumping on this anytime soon, but if I cant make it in a commentary format to be used in both programs, I will simply make it a single topic module if I get around to it. Right now I am still busy editing the 5 missing volumes for the Puritan Paperback series for theWord.

Just to give everyone an update, I decided to go ahead and work on this module. I already have the text for the entire commentary in Word, so now I am going back and setting marks by each verse reference. Its 750 pages in Word, I have about 50 done, and I have the next 3 days off of work so should be able to get a lot done. Then I should be able to simply load in ToolTip and save. Will be uploading this in CMTX format when complete very shortly. God Bless.
