Greetings all,

Just came across this deal for the New International Commentary for sale (https://estudysource...eals/index.aspx)

Does anyone own it? Is it the complete version of the original/standard NICOT and NICNT?

The price is so low for the series that I can't help think something from the original series has been excluded or edited.

Any information as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated; I'd like to purchase it is the complete series.

Thanks

Its a special Christmas deal , and that is all there is to it. Once the 12 days of Christmas is over, that's the end of the deal, and they go back to their original prices. So, if you don't have those commentaries, then buy them. If you don't do it, and do it when Christmas is done and dusted, then you will have to pay the full price.

By the way, if you were to buy these commentaries from Logos, you would be paying a heap more from them. Logos prices are about 90% more than what they are for e-Sword at the normal price.

If you think they are abridged, then suggest you find that out from ESS or Rick Meyers.

Merry Christmas

Well, I've discovered that there have been several additions to the series and updates (second editions to many modules) as well--the deal for e-Sword is 43 volumes; currently there are 54 volumes. This means this is lacking the most recent scholarship, which means it's a bit dated. That's not bad, but it explains the very low price. Logos and Olive Tree charge almost $1900.00.

At any rate, it is most certainly a good deal for what it is.

Anyone know if the E-sword version of NICOT/NICNT includes page numbers?

Greetings. Oddly the link you gave was still valid as of 4/19/2022, when I purchased this set using the link you provided. I checked it today (6/12/2022), and the discount still seems to be avialable. This set has 56 volumes, including some dated as recently as 2020! I'm pretty sure it contains the updated volumes. Here is a complete list of the set and what it included at the time I purchased it:

Does anyone else have a review on these commentaries? Both sets together are around $300.00 all together which compared to Logos and Accordance is way cheaper. Those two programs charge about as much as buying the books themselves iirc.

I am wondering how well it works in esword, and if there is pagination that corresponds with the book versions. I'm thinking there are some drawbacks but could be wrong.

Any input is appreciated, thank you.

Yep, I do!

As for pagination goes, nope it doesn't exist due to the fact its not an refx/refi or a topx/topi file (which can have page numbers), but rather a cmtx/cmti file which is directly synced to the Bible Window.

With regard to how good these commentaries are, well its a matter of horses for courses and individual taste. Some academics swear by them, while others don’t. As for me, about the only thing I can say, is that they, like all commentaries, have their uses to one degree or other.

Just one iddy biddy final thing: It definitely ain't Pentecostal. Not one bit... At all! :D

Blessings,

Stephen (Php 1:21).

They are available for all e-Sword editions---in both formats, cmtx and cmti, and irrespective of what edition of edition one originally bought and paid it for, you need not pay for it again if one is wanting to download and install on another device.

Thanks for the response. More than anything I was wondering about pagination, format &c. I have several individual books from the set but far from it in entirety. As you rightly say they have their uses and some of what I have read has been insightful and helpful.

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my post.
