eSword ver 12.0.1 introduced a revised method of eSword screen page background colors. There are now three options. They are low light, daylight, and lamp light. Low light gives a screen with a black background and white letters. Day light gives a screen with a white background and black letters. Lamp light gives a screen with a light yellow background and black letters.

I have vision problems and cannot see these backgrounds too good. In eSword ver 11.2.2 there was an option to change the screen background colors to many different colors. I used a green type color that enabled me to read the eSword screen for a long time. Also with ver 11.2.2 there was the ability to go to the Windows 10 Personification area and use the colors available on Windows. With ver 12.0.1 this cannot be done.

Does anyone have a fix or go around to get the old type colors back or how to change the colors in ver 12.0.1?  Ver 12.0.1 does seem to be faster in operation than ver 11.2.2.

I would appreciate any help or assistance that you maybe able to provide.

In the mean time, I have reloaded eSword   ver 11.2.2.

Have you informed Rick Meyers of the problem you were encountering? If not, maybe it might be an idea to do so, as he just might have the solution to your problem.

Despite David's modesty, he did indeed give a fact.  Any update why color editing is still not allowed in ver. 12.1?

The ability to change the back ground colors was removed in favor using a background lighting scheme of low light, daylight, and lamp light.

You best option for regaining the color options is to revert back to e_Sword 11

There are usually two ways of dealing with an issue:

  1. Whine
  2. Do something about it.

Whining about it doesn't resolve anything. If Dave was all that concerned (of which I doubt) he could take a more pro-active stance over it and give some actual advice, as in something similar to what I suggested.

Here is something I found out. Whenever I contacted the author of e-Sword whether on behalf of someone, or just on an issue I found, I always had a reply. And if one behalf of someone's issue, I've always posted the reply on this site. Anyone can do that, rather than whinging about it and expressing one's own opinion. Moreover, if more people actually did that you would get far better results.
