Trying to acquire Best2 Premium- No way to donate from USA

Hi all,


Ben's pay-pal page only displays a form for Canadian addresses.  (I tried every possible combination with no success.)

Best 2 Standard's hard coded update link to  to e-sword-users.org/ is broken (understandably to to deprecation of that site.)

Best 2 Standards donate button will not work either... it simply goes to the paypal home page.

Any help contacting the author/representative regarding Best 2 Premium would be greatly appreciated.

If memory serves the only thing best2 premium offered above the standard was the ability to make pocket e-Sword files

If you are not wanting to to create pocket e-Sword files then the standard will do

BeST 2.x is, for all practical purposes, abandonware.

As David says, the only reason for getting BeST premium, is to create Pocket e-Sword resources. However, Pocket e-Sword is no longer supported. On the gripping hand, as things currently stand, given a choice between MySword and Pocket e-Sword, I'll take Pocket e-Sword.

I was a big pocket e sword user prior to getting my first MySword device. I converted many resources to pocket e sword for others to use. I can still do this for you if you have one that is not available for pocket e sword.

However, with that said, except for two issues MySword is now supperior to pocket e sword in too many ways to list them all.

Here is just a few:

1. Searching of all resource types, not just Bibles
2. Ability to convert and use e sword topic files
3. Ability to use KJV with TVM which I could not get to convert to pocket e sword
4. Maps/graphics in the commentaries, dictionaries, and books
5. Complete conversion of many resources that I could not get to fully convert with Best2
6. Ability to email yourself information from within MySword (I use this feature all the time)

MySword is being actively developed and the feature list is growing all the time. There is exciting news coming soon in this area.

The main area where MySword lacks is you cannot buy premium resources for it. This is not a concern for me. The other is if you believe there are more than 66 books in the canon. This is also not an issue for me as I am convinced that the 66 book canon is correct.

Right, Catholics don't like MySword or TheWord for that reason--the 66 book canon. I wish they made MySword for the Ipad.

Yes, I want Best 2 to make Pocket e-sword modules. I was able to contact Ben directly and resolve the acquiring part. Hopefully I can get it to work as it seems that the platform requirements are pretty narrow. As my original post pointed out the donation problems remains. All in all I suppose that is okay with Ben. I will sort out the donation aspect with him. I am with you Jonathan and I really don't want to use MySword at this time. I am a very experience developer myself (25+ years) and have learned to appreciate a minimalist approach to all things in life including software.

I will probably have to post another topic(s) on Best2 in relation to Pocket e-Sword as the documentation on that is piece meal at best. So I can hopefully make this work and at least organize some proper documentation and convert some modules for other pocket e-sword users. Thank you everyone for the replies especially you pfpeller for offering to to convert a module for me.

I could not get BeST 2 to work with any of my devices without Ben's help. He had to take over my computer to get it working for me. I now have it working on three different windows mobile devices (which I do not use anymore). I used to be very into pocket e sword so I had 2 Dell Axim's and my Palm treo.

I do not remember what he did to get things working for me as it has been too long.

There are many recent commentaries that I have tried to convert from this site that did not work or were incomplete. Biblical Illustrator converted, but the Expositor's Bible would not. I have never figured out why some files will not convert or convert only partially.

It requires the record id field to be correctly sorted, before converting to Pocket e-Sword.

I was without a computer so I could not help out as much as I could,  Someone bless me  with a laptop. 

 

I had to install my programs.  I am using win 7 no more XP.  I installed BeST2 Premium and it works.  If it is OK (Josh) to upload it? I can now.

 

I will also upload KJV Rainbow bible and few more modules.

 

I had 3 terabytes external hard drive full of  data and it broke on me so I have to rebuild my collection.

Since it's the premium version of Best that the author sold, we couldn't distribute it freely without his permission.
