Correct, see my post on this issue a few days ago. Probably should have said "tab name" instead of "abbreviation".

I will also point out that if 2 resources have the same filename, only one will appear. For example, if you have 2 bibles with the "Coverdale" abbreviation, only one will show in your e-Sword tabs. That could be an issue here as well for you.

Just from a user-friendly perspective, it would be nice if e-Sword displayed a tab even when there's already a duplicate tab name. The developer may have written code with the assumption each tab will be unique, though.

Since you said the tab could be missing or the tab name could be duplicated, is there a utility that will allow the User add a tab or change the name of an existing tab to avoid duplication (or should we just post an issue on the forum)?

I don't think I've ever seen a tab name missing. So that shouldn't be an issue.

But yes, renaming the tab is separate from renaming the file:

An e-Sword file (or module) is really a database. The database is called SQLite. To change the tab abbreviation name, you will change the abbreviation field in that database to something different.

Download a simple SQLite database editor/browser, like this: http://sourceforge.n.../sqlitebrowser/

Then follow this tutorial to change the tab names: http://www.biblesupp...ns-in-the-tabs/ written by our very own, Ebed Doulos.

Some versions of Windows use c:\program files (x86)\e-sword. If that folder exists, copy the bblx to there. Most resources are self installing. If one isn't and you can't manually install it, post it here and I'll make it self installing.

The max size for uploaded files is 195 Megabytes, you can put the file is zip file which will compress the file and then uploaded it 

Just created and uploaded a video of  what one can use, and how one can change tab names of e-Sword resources. This video demonstrates two tools one can use, which are:

1. SQLite Manager, which is Firefox/Thunderbird extension. The principle shown in the video is also applicable to using SQLite Browser. So one shouldn't see all that much of a difference with respect to these tools.
2. e-Sword Tab Renamer, a very straight forward and simple tool to change Tab names

To get the best view of the video, click the four cornered square on the far right bottom of the video screen to get it to full screen. So with that sit back, relax, and enjoy the video.
