I had e-sword on my computer, with lots of modules. However, my hard drive was filling up so I installed a portable storage device (always plugged in to a USB port) and moved the complete e-sword folder there. Then it no longer worked.
So I reinstalled the latest version of e-sword to the same folder, so that it would recognize my modules. (Location E:e-sword) It still didn't recognize my modules, so I painstakingly downloaded them again (through the program) and deleted all the old ones. I started e-sword and I was up and running, with all modules there. Yay!
BUT . . . today I noticed that my e-sword folder had apparently spilled it's guts. In E: were all the files that had been in the E:e-sword folder yesterday. AND they were still in the E:e-sword folder too.
So I painstakingly deleted all the e-sword files that had magically appeared in E: from amongst all the files and folders that belong there. Then I went to E:e-sword and clicked on the application to be sure all was still well. I was amazed that it began to 'initialize', and when it did, it duplicated all the files from the E:e-sword folder into the E: root directory again! And when I opened e-sword all my modules were gone. Aaargh!
What is going on? Why can I not install to a folder such as E:e-sword instead of having dozens of files in my E: directory where I don't want them?
Why does e-sword insist on putting the files in that location again?
Why does e-sword not recognize any of the modules now?
Please help!!
(I really don't want to have to redownload every module later when they are already on my computer.)
