May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Hi Jan,

Tooltip for e-Sword isn't a resource. It is a Word Processing program which is specifically designed to create different resources for e-Sword which has the capability of exporting it to an SQLite database file that is able to be run in e-Sword.

The actual name of the Program is Tooltip Tool NT, of which its most basic function is to generate a massive amount of Scripture references in one single hit to be able to be read as popup tooltips. I guess that is why Brent named this program Tooltip Tool NT.

Now, when it comes to using this program, I reckon one really doesn't need MS Word unless one is just using MS Word for creating Word documents (Docx). Beyond that, I think that T4 (as Tooltip Tool NT is affectionately known as) will do a really great job.

Types of resources one can use T4 for, are:

  • Bibles
  • Commentaries
  • Dictionaries
  • Maps (Graphics)
  • Devotionals
  • Bible Reading Plans
  • Topic and Study notes

Plus a few other resources which escape my mind.

I trust this information is helpful to you, and that you will be one of the few that will get into resource creation for e-Sword.

Blessings,
