I have an Acer Iconia A500 tablet and recently downloaded mysword. A great app! It reminded so much of E-sword, which is my study Bible on my PC. I've download files for E-sword without a problem and install them. They work great. But mysword files don't seem to work. I download them, they go into my download folder. From there I move the file into the mysword folder with all the other files using a File Manager app. I can open the folder and see all the Bibles and Commentaries that are currently running in Mysword. I also see the file I downloaded, but when I go the software, it's no where to be found.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help offered.
blessings,
elman

Hi Elman,

Can you tell what one of the filenames looks like after you download it? A couple of people have problems with the filenames getting corrupted. Which has caused the files not to work.

Thanks,
Peter

Yea, I posted it under a review of one of your modules. For example The Illustrated New Testament Commentary looks like this, IllustratedNT%2ecmt. Most all of them follow with the %2e in it, which is not in the file extensions in any of the Bibles and Commentaries that came with the MySword app.

By changing the file name and removing the %2e and putting the period before cmt, the file now works. A small price to pay to get some good material. :)

Elman,

Thanks.. when this happens to the filenames were you downloading the files to your PC or to your android device?

The MySword modules at biblesupport.com currently cannot be downloaded directly to your device, they must be downloaded to your computer first and then transfered to your device.

Thanks,
Peter

Hey Peter, The files were downloaded to my PC first. It helps me keep track of what I've actually transferred into my tablet. As long as the file has not been changed, I know I still have not installed it into my Tablet. Once I change the file not, I immediately copy and paste it before I forget. lol It's a small process but well worth it.

Part of the point of mobile devices is to pull the data from the cloud host, and not some local setup.

Yes, I do realize that there is non-patent that one of the current crop of patent trolls (apple, microsoft, intellectual ventures) is asserting, and that paying the danegeld is much cheaper than paying a lawyer to prove legal extortion by the patent troll.
